MadisonJust how Crouch had promised he was waiting for me at the end of the staircase with a smile on his face. He held his hand gracefully for me to take, he bowed his head slightly. I felt like i was attending a ball only a sinister twisted one. I followed his eyes to my right to spot all the death eaters and the Malfoys' standing waiting for my presence. Voldemort walked towards me taking in my bare arm revealing my mark. His face seemed pleased at my new tattoo, he grasped my hand to lift in the air. Death eaters laughed wickedly and cheered as if i had just won a medal. Once Voldemort let go of my hand everyone dispersed their way, some would gather in small groups engaged in conversation while others sat at the bar ordering their drinks. I hadn't spotted Draco but seeing as we weren't in the best of terms i doubted he would want to be with me right now. Once again a room full of people yet i felt the loneliness fall upon me. I stood in the middle of the room not knowing what action was i to take, every chatter was just white noise. I sighed of relief left my lips as Crouch appeared before me, somehow i felt at ease when he was around.
"My lady, you look in need of some fresh air.""Well spotted." I answered.
"May i?" He stretched an arm out for me to take.
I nodded my head and linked my arm to his as we stepped into the garden. The Malfoy garden was absolutely stunning there was large hedges that reminded me of the Triwizard Championship only these had a couple of flowers. There was a grey stoned large water fountain adorned with doves and leaves, it seemed at least too good for the Malfoys. I imagine serpents every where however i seem to be attracted to this piece of art. There was two black benches at each end, Crouch led me to one as we both took a seat. The night was very calm, the sky was dark but there was no sign of rain. The only thing reflecting in the sky were the small specks that were scattered around.
"You will get used to it my lady, it will just take time." Crouch spoke making me turn to meet to his eyes.
"Please call me Madison." He nodded his head. "Why did you became a death eater Crouch."
He chuckled lightly. "Call me junior, i hate the name Crouch." He spat in disgust as if he had just ate a poisonous food.
"Very well, you don't get along with your father I presume?"
"You presume correctly. My father did not understand me, he never did. He always made me less, as if i was not eligible to do things on my own. You see neglect can make you do terrible things, commit the wrong choices."
I squinted my eyes trying to comprehend every word coming out of his mouth.
"So you're wrong choice was becoming a death eater?" I asked.
"At the time yes. I seeked my father's attention, he just always doubted my abilities. I decided to prove him otherwise by rebelling against him. When i think about it now, I don't regret it- however i was once where you are today. Terrified of what layed before in my future but now I wouldn't have it any other way. Neglection will do despicable things to you." He answered.
My mouth was at loss of his raw words. In a way I understand his pain, i never felt welcomed with Amos. I never felt loved, i always saw how he belittle me every chance he got. He was right in ways, neglect can fuck you up.
"I understand, i was also very much like you-" I chuckled at the depressing memories. "I never felt like I belonged most of the time. I was never loved the only person that cared for me was Cedric."
"The boy you exchange you freedom for?"
I nodded my head and looked back up into the plain black sky. "He was the only person that showed any caring emotion. I don't know what would've been of me if he wasn't around."
