Breakfast was great, the conversation was light. We ate slowly and then he dropped me back off at my place so that he could run his errands. I cleaned a nonexistent mess and took a shower. I wondered what all his errands included. I hoped he wouldn't be gone too long, he had promised to be back for lunch. I put on a movie to try to keep myself busy while I waited for him. I was a little nervous and a lot excited about what he had planned and he still hadn't told me what I needed to pack.
After breakfast, I headed home, took a shower, and got dressed for the evening. As I was waiting for one of my purchases, I sent Lizzie a quick text.
'Please pack the following items: swimsuit, comfortable clothes and sneakers, dinner clothes and dress shoes, and whatever undergarments you NEED for two days away from the house. If you feel the need, pack pajamas. I love you. Almost done. I'll bring lunch. Dress for an evening out tonight. Love & Light 💚 Avi'
I smiled at his text. I headed off to my bedroom and packed my overnight bag. I put in my white sneakers, a pair of jeans, and a cute casual top. I did throw in a pair of pajamas, just because. I packed my little black dress and a pair of black flats. I grabbed a matching black lace bra and panty set to wear with it. I grabbed the rest of the undergarments that I needed and another casual outfit. I threw in a simple purple bikini and a pair of yoga pants, a sports bra, and a t-shirt, along with my running shoes. After I was satisfied with my bag, I set my sights on what to wear tonight. I picked out a flirty denim skirt and a green ruffled top. I added a pair of neutral sandals and braided my hair. I had just finished when I heard him pull up outside.
I left my bag in the car with one of her gifts inside it and a small box in the trunk. I carried the cheese, meat, and fruit tray I brought for lunch and my guitar in with me. Out of habit, I tapped on the door. "Safe to come in?" I had already opened the door.
"Always." I met him at the door and took the tray from him. I whistled at him. "You clean up good."
I looked her up and down rather lewdly and smiled. "You do too."
I blushed and took lunch to the kitchen. "Water?" I got out a bottle for him and made tea for myself.
"Yes, please." I smiled and moved to find the little plates "So after lunch, we're going to head out of town."
"Oh yeah? Do I get to know where?" I handed him his bottle and sat at the table.
"Out of town?" I looked up at her. "Not too far, just out of LA. Maybe 2 hours or so."
"That will be nice. Thank you for lunch by the way." The kettle whistled so I got up to make my tea. "Did you want any?"
"Sure if you're up to it." I watched her walk to the kettle and smiled. So far so good. I had three gifts for her birthday plus two days where she'd be my only focus. I already told my mother I'd be out of the loop and that I was taking Lizzie with me. "I wonder. How do you feel about turning off your phone for the next couple of days?"
"Ummm...I..." I struggled to find an answer as I made our cups of tea. "If I call my mom tonight and let her know, it should be fine. She will call tomorrow otherwise." I know he is good about disconnecting, I never have been. I suddenly felt very anxious.
"If it makes you uncomfortable, it's fine. You do not have to." I smiled at her. "Whatever you are having is fine."
"For you, I will try." I brought him his cup and sat back down. "I am very much looking forward to spending my birthday with you." I started loading my plate from the tray.
"Me too." I smiled, more to myself than anything, as I filled my small plate and thought of her gifts. "It's gonna be fun."
We ate and chatted. Before long, the tray was empty and I was gathering our dishes and placing them in the dishwasher. I grabbed my bag out of my bedroom and used the bathroom. I met him in the living room. "I think I'm ready."
"Okay. But we don't have to leave right this second. Can I play for you?"
"Oooh. I would absolutely love that. Where do you want me?"
Have a seat wherever. Let's see if I can get this song out correctly. I just wrote it." I smiled. "For you. It's just a happy little thing, but it makes me smile. I hope you smile too."
I sat in the corner of the couch. As soon as he said it was for me, tears welled up in my eyes. "For me?"
"Of course. Music for my muse."
"I'm sure I'll love it." I couldn't wait to hear it.
I chuckled as I got ready to play. I was suddenly far more nervous than I ever was playing for a crowd. I cleared my throat with a good swallow of water relaxed as much as possible and played the happy little song I wrote her about the flowers and the trees and the sun in her hair.
It was a sweet little song and it was indeed very happy. I smiled and clapped. "I love it so much. Thank you. It was so happy."
"Awesome. Care if I just play for a while?"
"I love listening to you play." I settled in and got comfortable.
"Any requests?"
I looked at him and smiled. "Quarter Past Four. You know it's my favorite."
I nodded smiled and played the song she requested then just whatever my fingers decided to play for about 45 minutes. "Time to get going." I packed up my guitar and collected her. I kissed her at the door then opened it for her. "Ready for this?"
I cried through the song, but I always do. I relaxed and listened to whatever else he played. When he was done, I let him lead me out the door and to the car. "Absolutely." I smiled my biggest smile. I was excited.
