Wolfgang inhaled deeply, taking in the fresh air as he walked back into the clearing in the woods. The Nachtstern's eyes glanced around the flat space before landing on Klaus. The hybrid was sat on a fallen tree trunk, biting into his wrist before feeding a werewolf his blood. The hybrid met Wolfgang's gaze as he wrenched the werewolf's head to the side, killing him.
"How'd it go?" Klaus asked, standing up as he met Wolfgang's gaze, the ocean blue of his eyes clashing with the hunter's earthy hazel. Wolfgang let out a sigh, twirling his daylight ring around his middle finger, "The Gemini Coven agreed to stay out of your way so long as we stay out of theirs." Klaus nodded, opening his mouth before he was silenced by his phone ringing. The Mikaelson fished it out of his pocket, his lips twisting into a frown as he saw that the call was from Stefan.
"Portland is fantastic." Klaus replied as Stefan greeted him, "Once you get over all the whiny music and healthy-looking people, it is literally a breeding ground for werewolves."
"Your father is dead." The Salvatore announced, ignoring Klaus' words. Wolfgang frowned, stepping forward with shock as he snatched the phone from Klaus' hand, putting it on speaker, "What the hell did you just say, Stefan?"
"Oh, my mistake." Stefan replied although his voice lacked humour, "Not his actual father and not dead." Stefan paused as though he was choosing his words carefully, "Mikael, daggered. What do you want me to do with the body?"
"Well, first I want you to explain to me exactly what happened." Klaus snapped. Stefan sucked in a breath, explaining quickly how Mikael had charged at Elena and the doppelganger had stabbed a dagger through his heart. Klaus paused, his body shaking slightly with shock before he gathered his wits, his voice quiet, "I wanna see him. I want to see his rotting body for myself."
"Well, he's here. Come by whenever." Stefan replied. Klaus nodded, taking the phone from Wolfgang as he took it off speaker so he could speak to Stefan directly. "If you are lying to me Stefan, your compulsion will expose you." Klaus warned, "So, answer with your life; is what you are saying the truth?"
"It's true." Stefan replied and Wolfgang mused that he was probably nodding, his oddly styled hair swaying slightly as he did so, "I saw it with my own eyes."
"I want to talk to Rebekah." Wolfang proclaimed. The Salvatore nodded, looking towards the blonde Original, "That's not a problem. She's right here." Wolfgang and Klaus waited as Stefan handed over the phone to Rebekah. The Nachtstern focused his hearing, picking up the breathing pattern that had become familiar over the centuries, it was definitely Rebekah. After a few seconds, the blonde spoke, "Hello, Nik, Wolf."
"Rebekah, love." Klaus said, exchanging nervous glances with Wolfgang that the surety of his voice managed to mask, "What's this I hear about Mikael's tragic run-in with the dagger?"
"It's true." Rebekah confirmed, her tone slightly hesitant, "He's finally out of our lives for good." The Original continued and Wolfgang could hear her voice slightly change pitch, "I miss you two. I'm miserable here."
"We'll be home soon," Wolfgang replied, giving Klaus a look that told him to cut the conversation short. Rebekah nodded, "Good. I'll see you then." The dialling tone sounded out as Rebekah hung up and Klaus let out a sigh, slipping his phone into his pocket as he turned to look at Wolfgang, a smile plastered across the Original Hybrid's fair features, "Who would have thought Elena Gilbert of all people would rid us of Mikael?"
"I wouldn't bet on it. Mikael wouldn't go down so easily," Wolfgang said cynically. Klaus shook his head in disagreement, meeting the Nachtstern's gaze, "Stefan confirmed it and he's under compulsion."
