Klaus opened a single cerulean eye as the door to his hotel room opened. Although the noise was enough to wake him, there was no other sound. Yet, another heartbeat beating quite fast gave away the other person's presence. The hybrid groaned as the thick curtains covering the windows were thrown open, sunlight flooding into the room as Klaus opened his other eye, moving away from the light with a hiss.

"That's a proper vampire right there," Wolfgang said and Klaus screwed his eyes closed as he buried his head under the covers, "It's three in the morning, Wolfgang."

"It's my fucking birthday, Nikky." Wolfgang corrected, pulling away the cover as the hunter bounced slightly with excitement, "Don't pout, Nik, it doesn't look good."

"You woke me up at three AM because it's your birthday?" Klaus asked, irritated as he sat up in his bed, running a hand through his dark blond curls. Wolfgang nodded, sitting down on the edge of the bed. The Nachtstern vampire looked at his friend, taking notice of how the light struck against his shirtless form, highlighting each contour of his body.

"It's the anniversary of our first meeting too," Wolfgang answered, standing up as Klaus noticed the chain around his neck bounce with the movement. The Nachtstern turned his back to Klaus and the Mikaelson averted his eyes from the painting of soft pink scars that marred the pale skin, a portrait of suffering and hate. Klaus moved his view instead to the large wind rose star tattooed on his right shoulder blade.

"That's new." Klaus commented and Wolfgang attempted to look behind him at his own back before he nodded, his hazel eyes meeting Klaus' as he ran a hand through his dark hair, "Yeah. I got it in the 90s."

"Anyways." Klaus said as he moved the covers to the side, got out of bed and walked towards the drawer to get a shirt, "Do you want to make a hybrid?"

The house itself was nothing special. The white picket fence was dull, to be kind. The brick walls stood impressively and the windows simply stared out onto the street. The whole affair was quaint. What was interesting, however, was the woman who had just walked outside the house from the kitchen door.

"Rudy!" She called out before letting out a whistle, looking around as though for a pet, "Rudy. Come on! It's too hot to make me come looking for you." The woman bent down and picked up a chew toy. When she turned around, Klaus and Wolfgang suddenly appeared in front of her. The hybrid smiled warmly at her as Wolfgang stood a few steps behind him.

"I'm so sorry." The hybrid started with a very bad false American accent. Wolfgang fought back an eye-roll, continuing in his normal English accent, "We didn't mean to startle you."

"Can I help you?" The woman questioned and Klaus nodded, pausing slightly, "Yeah, my car, hmm, my car ran out of gas a couple of miles back." The hybrid let out a sigh, feigning tiredness, "Eh, I feel like we've been walking forever. Yours is the first house we came to so I was just hoping I could use your phone?"

"Don't you have a cell phone?" She asked cautiously and Klaus nodded, "Huh, yeah..." The hybrid replied, pulling his phone from his pocket, "Battery died." Wolfgang shrugged, feeling his shirt shift slightly on his shoulders, "Left mine in the car."

"Look, I promise I'm not a serial killer or anything." Klaus assured her and Wolfgang nodded, intertwining his fingers with Klaus' as he held up their conjoined hands, "We're just a couple looking to use your phone so we can call a friend."
