"No that's not how it works kook." I sighed and held his hand again. "You need to focus and do the step properly."
"Okay...wait like this...oh shit." He fell down on his butt.
I couldn't hold back my laughter and bursted out giggling. He told me to teach him a famous Indian dance step but he couldn't swing his legs properly which caused him to fall down rather harshly. I don't know how many days I've been here with him. With every day he seems fresher. The pain of lonliness that he had infected upon himself was slowly vanishing.
With every passing twilight his face glowed with a different radiance of happiness. The happiness that I once envied. The happiness that I wished for. For the longest time I would imagine myself having someone to talk to without feeling unwanted or forcing myself on them. With Jungkook it was easy.
Reading him was like an open book. His eyes with every pages held different stories. With every turn the lonliness that held me back from talking to anyone gave me reason to talk to him more. An unknown addiction. An unknown experience I never knew I needed until now. We would talk for hours on his dusk filled balcony at the dawn of the day but also at the crook of the night.
My laughter subsided when he gave me a glare and probed me to pick him from the ground. I groaned and held his hand trying to pull him but I got tangled in between his leg which caused me to let out a shriek and fell on top of him.
My eyes darted around his face until it met his dark brown ones. The Jeon Jungkook. The golden maknae. The person who would vanish everyone's pain with just a smile of his. Now his eyes held so much pain that the happiness that I mentioned above was maybe just maybe a facade that abated his growing smile.
My hand automatically reached his cheek and stroked his smooth skin. His eyes held a mysterious pain. I couldn't understand what it was. I shook my head softly as he held me in his embrace and hugged me tighter all while laying down on the ground.
"Kookie." I whispered in his ears softly. "What's wrong?"
"I..." He said but choked on his own words. "I just miss her."
I nodded. My head nuzzled on the crook of his neck. I tightened my embrace hoping that it would take some of the pain away from him and transfer into my soul. My chest was hurting so much. I had an idea why. It was the emotional hurt. The hurt that connects two souls.
Over the days with Jungkook I realized one thing. A bruised soul can be mended by a healed one only if the later knows the intensity of the former's pain other wise it would be an endless loop of understanding and not understanding at the same time.
I got up from him and pulled him along with me. His crestfallen face caused a tug on my poor heart which was already broken seeing him like this.
"Come I'll make some ramen." I said softly. He nodded.
"I'm so sorry it's just...."
"Shhhh...." I said putting my index finger on his lips.
"I understand." I said with a faint smile. "Let's go?"
He smiled for a bit and nodded again with full force.
That night I couldn't sleep. Jungkook seemed so disturbed today. I wonder what's wrong. I tossed and turned on my bed and looked at the huge clock infront of me. It was 4 am. The arrival of dawn.
I decided to go to the kitchen for some water as I was getting pretty thirsty. On the way I saw Jungkook sitting on the divan on the balcony looking at nowhere. I was getting curious to what he was doing. I opened the glass door. He still didn't notice me coming.
I put a hand on his shoulder.
