You sighed at the memory you had the urge to use mana then but if you had who knows what could've gone down. Getting in and all had been easy as well as leaving. The hard part was getting them to trust you, at first they were smart to refuse but Kirishima was quick to convince them. You hadn't seen such relief on someones face until they'd taken a step out of that filthy room.
They got treated by your medical team, you could even say they seemed confused. No one was batting an eye at them or so much as making a fuss, they probably felt weird being treated as real people.
Only recently did those boys begin to open up. Your previous leader all might, had their respect and up most loyalty as he himself was a mage. Then came the day when they attacked, he stayed behind and did what he could so everyone could run. Aizawa was meant to lead but they had voted for you, so here you took it on. No one argued except Bakugou.
"Bastard..",you mumbled as a smile spread, you had a soft spot for him
"Captain",a voice called out, making you turn
"Oh Midoriya, what is it?",you asked tilting your head
"I-I have a question, if I may be so bold as to ask",he said as he approached you,"Why did you keep that man?",he asked referring to Keigo
You smiled, Midoriya never questioned you not once even after your sudden position as leader. He was one of your most loyal men but you didn't let yourself be fooled. This kid as innocent as he seemed could kill in a blink of an eye and make you believe you'd hallucinated. Had you not seen it, the way he moved and easy killed.
"Hmm take a guess",you grinned as his expression went into a deep frown
He was good at analysing people and situations. He was the plan maker, if he didn't trust anyone you better believe they'd be out in a blink of an eye. You could hear him as he mumbled under his breath a habit you'd grown used to by now.
"You pitied him",he stated as he nodded contempt with his guess
"Wrong",you smiled,"but good try."
"What?!",he exclaimed surprised he'd gotten it wrong
"Midoriya",you spoke softly catching his full attention,"It was pity but there's more to it. We are both mages, but I was lucky to not have suffered what you have",your eyes glanced towards his hand where scars were visible.
During the rescue, someone had snuck behind you. Midoriya had caught the blade in his hands leaving him those marks.
"When I saw him I saw myself",you spoke softly, his eyes widened slightly but he remained silent,"he was physically fighting what I fight mentally, we're both in an on going battle."
"(Y/n) I..",he trailed off searching for the right words,"I think he's necessary and I can't help but I can't help but worry."
You ruffled his already messy hair,"I know, don't worry I've got this. Now let me ask you something"
"What is it?",he asked staring intently
"Why don't you argue against me and follow me blindly?",you asked, you'd been wanting to ask for a while now and now seemed like a good chance
"I did have doubts just like Kacchan but I know if all might chose you. It must've been for a reason",he explained and smiled,"besides I owe you my life as well as Mr Aizawa."
There it was the unwavering loyalty, it always worked in making you feel sick. You liked how they all depended on you It made you feel useful, but the stress wasn't working well.
"I see..",you mumbled, and sighed,"Well it's late we should sleep, whose got night shift?"
"That would be Kaminari and Shoji",he chirped in
"Alright, get them to their posts. I'll be heading to my room",you said as you began leaving the room
Midoriya stood there silently as he watched your figure disappear around the corner. He glared towards the window, where the moons light was shinning in through.
"Are you done?",he grumbled as he jumped from one foot to the other
A chuckled rose from outside as a winged figure leapt down and onto the window sill.
"You've got good eyes kid",Keigo grinned towards the boy
"I don't see why captain keeps you around",he huffed but kept his tone polite
"Hmm? I wouldn't be able to tell you either, tell me how many are there of you?",he asked
"There's a few of us",Mirdoriya replied replying but not enough to give details,"If you're working with us don't sneak around."
"Don't get so ruffled up kid, think of it as a game."
"A game?..",Midoriya spat out a green aura began surrounding him,"If the lives of others are a game to you, then leave."
Keigo was amused and surprised, he just wanted to mess with the kid. The moment he'd snuck down, the brat had already sensed him. Seeing how ruffled up he got, made him to tease him some more.
"Alright I apologize but tell me about (y/n)",he asked, noticing how quickly the boy calmed down but a serious expression took over
"Don't ask about her, I have something to do",he snapped with that he turned and went off
Keigo stared after him confused, he hadn't said anything bad for the boy to get so serious. His mind began to wander why, was it forbidden to speak about the captain? His head turned towards voices coming from outside, he could make out two figures. A blonde kid with a cloaked figure, he couldn't help himself. He needed to find out more if he planned to be of any help. He'd barely gotten close when a giant lightning bolt almost hit him, making him swerve hitting a tree.
"Oh! Mr Keigo",a blonde boy ran over,"Sorry."
"Pardon me I told Kaminari someone was following us, I wasn't aware you'd be accompanying us",the cloaked figure spoke
"Its alright its what I deserve",he chuckled as he stood up brushing the dirt off
