"Hawks",you whispered softly as your hands reached for his choker

He flinched making the guilt increase but your fingers fumbled with it until it finally fell off. You allowed your hand to caress his cheek trying to ignore the others.

"Songbird I'm fine",he spoke up holding your hand, he lowered his head down next to your earn,"If anything it's her who I'm rather paused at."

You chuckled, you all took your seats. The maids came in set down platters. It felt weird having gone through that thinking you were going to die and now finding yourself eating. You hadn't eaten not to mention you were exhausted, having night patrol wasn't doing you good right now.

"Now I do apologize, so enjoy. At first I did mean to target one of the boys since its expected but when I saw how protective they were and so obedient I had to go for you darling",she explained as she took a bite of a loaf of bread

You held back a remark knowing well if she'd targeted the others as her toy, this mission would've been a blood baths. True it was thanks to their obedience and the fact they saw you as their captain.

"Though it was pretty obvious, your relationship",she said motioning towards you and hawks

You shared a glanced with hawks, who's feathers had become rather fluffed up with the remark. He took a bite of the food in an attempt to hide his reaction.

"I'm sorry if he-",you began but stopped as she held up her hand

"No you gave it away"

"Me?",your face heated up

"At first when I introduced myself I expected him to step forward but your body language gave it away. I'd barely approached you, and you'd already gotten uh..territorial",she laughed as your face could only heat up even more which each word

Is it true? Your mind began racing. You were sure to be focused but maybe a small part of you became aware of this women as more than just an enemy.

Your eyes traveled over her before she could notice, true she was beautiful having the smooth curved body. Not to mention her smooth and soft looking hair. You held back the urge to look at yourself. It was evident a part of you had not just seen her as potential danger to your life's but also as a potential risk of her taking hawks away.

"Now tell me, where are you headed?"

You were this far and maybe just maybe you could convince her to lend you some men.

Taking a deep breath you explained all the things those bastards had done. How many life's they were taking, and land. How the national guard hasn't stepped in, so for that reason a rebellion formed to take them down. You hesitated as you explained where the final battle would take place. Throughout the whole explanation the women nodded and listened, frowning.

"Not to long we encountered one of their main men, I was able to take him down. We were expected to take on two other towns but they've moved unexpectedly and other members are taking those on",your hands turned into fists

Being leader meant protecting the others but there wasn't anything you could do now. You could only silently wish them the best as you weren't very religious to pray, to believe in a god who only watched his people suffer, was no god to you.

"I see well I'll help",she replied eagerly

"What?"

"Just like that?",hawks questioned a suspicion in his tone

"Well besides owning the desert I do own a bit of a town you mentioned, if these boys are causing trouble I want to help",she said popping a grape into her mouth,"Now eat, we'll talk later."

You abliged and ate, the meal wasn't bad. Neither was the enviroment, she started conversation with Tokoyami who was rather nervous. He kept giving you glances each time she asked a question, you found it amusing. You gave him a nod of approval this must've been what he needed because he began answering and speaking more comfortably.

The maids walked in once more clearing the table, the sun was now set up high it wasn't near noon yet it had been early morning when this all happened.

"Now before we sit to continue our conversation, I've prepared rooms foe you to rest",she said as she clapped her hands and two men dressed as butler's stepped in,"Take them to their rooms."

"Wait before that you haven't told me your name",You spoke up

"Ah how rude, hmm call me midnight",she smirked

It was odd but then again who were you to judge," I'm (y/n)."

"Now go rest."

With that you were lead out onto the hall where you felt your body relax.

"Each one of us will guide you",they spoke

Tokoyami gave you a side glance to which you nodded, and off he went. You believed in him, he wouldn't 've easily taken down not to mention it was a mistake for them to not search you for weapons.

"This way ma'am",one spoke as he signalled the other way down the hall

"Wait",hawks spoke up as be briskly walked to your side,"I'll be accompanying her."

"Sir I-",the man who was suppose to guide him spoke up

However Keigo didn't let him say another word as he held up the dagger the boy had gifted him.

"I will be going with her",he growled out causing goosebumps over your body

"Let him, show us to my room",You spoke up

They glanced at each other but must've realized they was no separating him from your side. Bitterly they lead the way, the whole way Keigo clung onto you.

"Enjoy your stay",the said as the left

The room had acess to a garden, the room itself was adorned with. Patterned carpets, beautiful hand woven tapestries adorned the walls. It had a soft yellow glow to it, you allowed yourself to sit on a chair.

Sudden arms picking you up made you flinch, but relaxed as Keigo carried you to the apparent bed. He layed you down, and covered you with one of the blankets.

"Sleep I'll protect you."

With those words of comfort you dozed off, as he rubbed your hand with this thumb. How lucky you felt he'd chosen you.
