"Thank you for everything",the people cheered as you and the two boys were getting ready to leave

The towns people had gathered and given you proportions you'd need to make it until the rest of your trip. You'd repaired the town and everyone seemed to be in a better mood.

"Take these", a man signaled to a crate full of weapons,"We have plenty, see of those bastards dare come here again."

You thanked them as dark shadow began storing them in the wagon. A few women had gifted you hand crafted scarfs and other items. A few men had explained way to survive on rations.

"Uh ma'am",a boy not much older than you walked up to you

"Call me (y/n)",you smiled softly as he seemed to be struggling with himself

"I wanted to thank you, had it not been for you my father's shop would've been ransacked",he explained

"It wasn't just me",you replied

"I-We wanted to gift you this",the boy pulled out a sword, handing it to you,"We've made it from our best ore, and we even added an elementist stone."

"Really?",you gasped in disbelief

An elementist stone wasn't just a regular stone, they were able to absorb their wielders power. Contributing to their attack, to get one as a gift meant a lot.

"Yeah, a pretty jewel for a pretty lady.",the boy added

This surprised you, to have men court you was unusual due to the fact that as soon as they saw you wield a sword they stepped back. So to say you lacked a proper response but someone coughing brought both of your attention towards a rather pissed birdy.

"Its time to go",He growled out while keeping a calm face

"Ah! Alright, thank you so much this will be very useful for me, I can tell you're a very skilled blacksmith",you turned back towards the boy

His face flushed,"N-No you're amazing moves were what inspired me if I dare call you my muse."

An arm wrapped itself around your waist, making you jump in surprise. Hawks stood next to you, a forced smile plastered on his face as he looked at the other male.

"Sorry but we really must be going",he said

"Ah, I understand but sir I have something else for you and the boy".

Hawks gave you a glanced as the boy turned around, with two satchels in hand.

"I do hope you like them."

You thanked him and took them as Tokoyami began moving the wagon. With hawks grumbling about the town and the boy, you opened the packets. You gasped drawing the attention of both guy.

"Ma'am?",Tokoyami questioned as he glanced over

"Talk about talent",you grinned as you tossed them the packets

They both caught them with ease, hawks stared at what appeared to be a dagger. It's silver handle beautifully decorated, and in the middle a red jewel implanted. Not only that but the blade was light and could be seen it wouldn't easily break. However that wasn't all that made it beautiful but the fact it was designed after the traditional Fanalis design. He clicked his tongue in irritation.

"What did you get?",he turned towards the boy

"I appear to have gotten a rather nice gun."

"A gun?",hawks cocked a questioning eyebrow,"Seems he wasnt so good at making right weapons."

"I wouldn't be so sure",you casted Tokoyami a knowing glance

"Elaborate",hawks grumbled

You began explaining, that True you would assume a gun wouldn't fit Tokoyami considering his abilities. However seeing he is a mage whose element is darkness You'd expect maybe a dagger but a gun worked even better. He would be able to work from the shadows not to mention that gun wouldn't actually work unless mana was used, a proper and secure weapon. A weapon that wouldn't turn against its master.

"My sword he gifted me I am able to increase its strength but it can be used against me as a regular sword",you finished explaining,"A weapon that won't turn on its master."

Hawks nodded along but didn't talk, even as you and Tokoyami further inspected your weapons he remained silent. He couldn't get your words out of his mind.

Won't turn against its master...he thought to himself, as he turned to glanced at you only to catch you already staring. A smile appeared on his lips Songbird.. Or master?

He watched as your cheeks turned red with the question, his thoughts were visible as day to you. Teasing you with them wouldnt hurt. Yet he came to realize, during the fight the reason he'd taken so long in finding you was because your mind had been blocked. No matter how much he tugged at the bond it felt as if your mind was closed off, after doing a bit of questioning he realized it was because you were still in need to let him in.

The first time you made the bond he could hear and see all your thoughts but that was because it was the first time. It was natural you'd shut him out. It'd hurt him but he didn't want to force anything on you. So he would wait, after all you had the time in the world. He believed in you, after all you'd been able to tame the wild bird.

"Hawks!"

The sudden alarm in your voice had him on his feet as. You stood pointing towards the sky.

"Grab the bird and bring it to me",you said as you pointed towards what appeared to be a hawk.

He nodded and he sprung into the sky, the bird didn't even have time to cry out as he grabbed it. And let himself dive back down, bird in his arms. It was a beautiful red tailed hawk. You approached and took what appeared to be a tied up parent from its leg.

"Release it", he did so as the hawks perched itself on his shoulder.

"Fuck",you groaned

"(Y/n)?",Tokoyami spoke up from the front as he brought the wagon to a halt

"It seems the bastards have quickened their progress, Aizawa sent Kirishima and Bakugou to deal with them in one town. Todoroki and Midoriya to another town..",you trailed off a bad feeling settling in the pit of your stomache

"Does that mean..",Hawks spoke softly

"We're going straight to our final destination",you spoke your throat suddenly feeling dry.

The rest of the afternoon travel consisted of hawks explaining everything to Tokoyami as well as who the people in the letter were. You remained silent, even when the camp was being set up, in the desert land. That night it was your turn to do watch, you were brushing out the mares manes.

When a hand softly touched your shoulder making you jump as You hadn't really been aware of your surroundings.

"(Y/n), what's wrong?", Tokoyami spoke softly as he took the brush from your hands

"Well I always imagined we'd have more time to prepare for this fight, I'd be lying if I said I wasn't terrified",you sighed out

"Time is for dead, as living humans we have to do our best on tbe time we've been given",he replied his gaze fixated on the sky,"They say ignorance is a bliss but it's always a curse."

You stared at him finally lookimg at the sky as the stars were making their appearance. Tokoyami had a realistic way of seeing things, and it helped you. Maybe he hadn't suggested an idea but his company helped.
