VII. Dazed and Confused

     Pulling up to a glass house you cut off your engine and got out your car the blood on your jeans making your skin feeling itchy. Tying your hair back Ames walks over to you, a few seconds go by as you stare at the place. "(Y/n), c'mon." She calls walking towards the house, grabbing your attention, you closed the door and went to follow her. Making your way on to the porch the door opened and you faced a worried Carlisle Cullen. "Hey Carlisle." Ames says almost awkwardly, "Uh, just so you know-"

"Yeah don't worry about it. I'll ask Rosalie or Alice to give (Y/n) some clothes for tonight." He says kindly as you stepped inside you shivered and it seemed like all warm left you upon stepping inside. 

"Hello Dr. Cullen-"

"Please call me Carlisle." He said cutting you off and you smiled.

"Hello Carlisle, thank you for having us over. I apologize for not bringing you something." You say looking at Ames, your mother said it was rude to not bring a person something when coming over. Ames smiles and shoves you almost playfully.

"It's no problem, come on in. Let's take a seat." He says leading you inside, you looked around in shock with how beautiful and pristine the house was. 

"You have a lovely home." You smiled as you looked around, a beautiful woman came into view and you realized you'd seen her before in the grocery store. 

"This is my wife, Esme." Carlisle says as he walk over to her.

You waved, smiling gently at her "Hi, Mrs.Cullen. It's nice to meet you." You say as they motioned for you to sit, your sister spoke to Esme as they hugged and they sat down across from you. You felt like you were in trouble, your sister, Dr.Cullen and Mrs.Cullen sitting in front of you. 

"You can call me Esme." Esme says with a grin, "Mrs. Cullen makes me feel old." She teased causing you to grin and giggled.

"You don't look a day over 25." You said kindly and she looked at Carlisle before they laughed and you shifted awkwardly. You gently tugged at your sticky jeans and waited for someone to say something.

"So, what happened?" Ames asked starting the conversation.

You hesitated and shivered again, you rubbed your arms to create some warmth. "Sheriff Swan said that he told you on the phone." You say hesitantly.

"(Y/n)." She says more seriously and you nervously tapped your foot.

"You won't believe me." You finally said after a long silence.

Esme smiled and she leaned forward, "Try us."

You hesitated and looked Ames and she nodded and reassured you. Your eyes began to water and you sniffled before taking in a deep breath. "I- I don't ditch." You began looking up at Ames, "I was at school and I had this thought. I left school and went back to the trail, I didn't know why but I had this bad feeling about going in." Looking down at your hands, the palm with the gauze you sighed. "I grabbed a flashlight since I got lost last time and I remembered I had a bat in the car. When I was walking the trail I-" You frowned and looked at your hands, "This is crazy... I know how it sounds but, I swear I was by myself. I was by myself and I was walking along the path. She came out of nowhere, it sounded like she dropped down from a damn tree!" You said hoping they believed you, "I know it sounds crazy-"

"We believe you." Carlisle says, "It's okay." I instantly relaxed and leaned with your face in your hands with your elbows on your knees. 

"I- she was really fast and she fought me. Honestly I have no idea how I fought her. I used the bat and caught her off-guard before running off back to the car when she couldn't get back up." Your hands go to your forehead and pulling your hair disgruntled. "She- she tried to bite me." You all but whispered and the Cullens tensed up Esme's eyes were concerned. "It's crazy, but she-"
