The pack sat in silence in the kitchen. Emily had laid down already leaving them to discuss only the boys and Leah sans Jacob.
"Why are we here?" Jared asked looking around at everyone Sam's disgruntled appearance made him rethink his words. "What? We are all thinking about it." He leaned into the chair his arms crossed with a frown on his face.
"It's obviously about the girl with Jacob." Leah was leaning against the door Leah was always the last one in and the first one out in these meetings.
"Did Jacob tell any of you about her?" Sam looked at them with a disapproving tone.
Leah rolls her eyes again and tilted her head, "C'mon Sam. He hadn't. He's been trying to keep her a secret, why would he tell any of us? We would not be able to keep the secret. If anything, it is astonishing that we didn't know much of anything. Besides random images of her face every once in a while." Leah turned to open the door and called for Seth who stood up and followed, "Listen, Sam maybe Jacob has a reason. Conspiring against him won't get Jacob to talk if he is acting secretive."
"I think that is the most Leah has spoken in months," Paul muttered to Embry after the Clearwaters left, he promptly nodded in agreement with Paul's statement.
Sam tapped his foot, Leah's words made sense but, it did not dissipate the bad feeling he had in his gut from this situation. "See if Jacob will talk to any of you. He hardly goes to me as it is, maybe he will talk to one of you." The pack looked at one another and nodded to show their compliance, it was an order. "Dismissed."

Driving to the reservation was confusing. It surprised you how close Jacob had been all this time. You were sure Jacob would make fun of you if you had told him how often you had gotten lost. Parking next to Jacob's house you pulled your sweater on and grab a gift bag. Slipping out you closed the door and went to knock on the Black's residence. Smiling at Billy when he opened up, "Hi! How's Jacob?"
He backed away letting you pass, closing the door behind you. "He's alright, better than yesterday." Jacob walked into the room and smiled at you.
"Hope you don't mind, you asked me to come by. To be completely honest I thought it was the pain meds talking." You joked before holding the bag up at him. "It's stupid but, I don't know maybe it can help."
Jacob grabbed the bag and opened it. Inside of it was a blanket. "Really?"
"I bought it a little while ago, it is a weighted blanket. I washed it and uh," scratching the back of your neck your cheeks flushed and Billy sensing your embarrassment went to watch tv and turned the volume up a bit. "I sprayed a bit of my perfume on it." Jacob blushed too and you laughed lightly at his thoughts. "I don't know why, I thought it could help if I am ever away."
"Thank you, (Y/n). It is sweet." He held the blanket and nodded to the door. "I'm going to go put this down in my room. Meet me outside?" You nodded and waved Billy goodbye and stepped out. From your peripheral vision, you saw someone looking at you, turning you waved. "Leah? Is that you?" You smiled walking towards her.
"Hey," She says sizing you up, "what are you doing here?"
"Jacob, he asked me to come by yesterday. I didn't mean to intrude." Your hands fumbled with one another.
Jacob closed the door behind him and turned to see Leah in front of you. "What's going on?"
"Nothing, we're just talking." Leah said looking towards Jacob, "She's allowed to talk with us, Jake." She tilted her head and Jacob put his hand on your shoulder.
"Come on, let's go," Jacob suggested and you frowned but nodded.
"It was nice seeing you again Leah." You followed Jacob's footsteps and sighed.
