(a/n: okay I know I promised that I was going to publish two more stories before going on a trip, but it turns out we were leaving earlier than what I was expecting. This has just been sitting on my drafts for weeks and I didn't read through, so there may be a few errors.)

Anyway, I hope you like it!

(Y/N)'s P.O.V.

"Come on (Y/N), please! A few drinks wouldn't hurt right?!" My bestfriend Temari yelled from the outside while knocking on my door.

I was currently in the guest room at their house because I was sent on a mission to deliver a very important message from the Sixth Hokage to the Kazekage. I wasn't supposed to stay here; the plan was deliver the message and get back to Konoha immediately. When I was about to leave, Temari found me and insisted that I stay for one night, spending the night in the same roof as your ex wasn't really a part of my plan, so I declined. Temari went on and out about how it's been so long since the last time I saw her and in the end she got to convince me.

"(Y/N)! I swear if you don't open this door in three seconds. I'm going to kick it open!" she threatened. I ignored her hoping that she would leave soon and assume that I was sleeping, but she starting counting down, "three... two... one... I'm going-"

"ALRIGHT! FINE! I'M COMING!" I said and opened the door there was a triumphant smile on her face, "But first, I need to know something..." I said, she raised an eyebrow and waited, "Is he going to be there?" I asked, handing Gaara the letter was awkward enough for me and I can't imagine how awkward it'll be when we start drinking together.

"Don't worry, Gaara is too busy being Kazekage now, plus he only drinks on special occasions, most likely he wouldn't be there." Temari said, she knew that things between me and Gaara were still very awkward. Even though we ended up in good terms, things weren't just the same. "It's just going to be me, you and Kankuro, for old times sake." She smiled.

"For old times sake." I nodded and smiled.

Temari let out a small squeal, and dragged me to her room to get ready for tonight. I hate to admit it, but I was excited too it's been so long since I got to hang out with my childhood friends. I got changed into a purple dress that stopped just below my knees, it had a slit on the side exposing my left thigh, it was finished off with a red ribbon to cinch my waist to show off my curves finished of with some heels. Temari's dress was definitely out of my comfort zone but I'm not complaining it was perfect for this hot weather.

"Perfect!" Temari said, fixing her hair, and twirled around the mirror, she was wearing a blue dress.
"Lets go (Y/N)!" She said, and I nodded and followed her excitedly.

----

When we arrived at the restaurant, I immediately saw Kankuro and jumped into his arms to give him a hug. Kankuro was like an older brother to me, we used to train together when I still lived in Suna.

"(Y/N)!! You haven't grown an inch since the last time I saw you." He teased lifting me up a little when as I hugged him.
"And you're still... You." I said playfully rolling my eyes as he put me down. We both chuckled and Kankuro playfully punched me on my arm, we started mocking each other and calling each other names.

"Sorry I'm late." A raspy voice behind us spoke, interrupting me and Kankuro's playful banter, I didn't turn around but I knew who it was. I looked at Temari and the look on her face also said that this was unexpected.
"Gaara! Glad you could make it! I thought you couldn't make it, because you were too busy being Kazekage." he mocked his little brother, letting out a laugh.
"I also figured you wouldn't come because of how awkward things are between you and-" Kankuro said before he could finish his sentence Temari elbowed him, making him grunt.
