i took liams advice... for once. i decided to try and find something i liked and i really did need to change my hairstyle.

i found myself at the salon where my mother goes. i don't remember the last time i had my hair done, besides prom and homecoming. i walk in and i hear a yell from across the room. "brianna! i thought i'd never see the day you walked in here." i laugh as my moms friend rushes over to me. we hug and she immediately sits me in a chair.

"man you've grown and you lost weight! it doesn't even look like you had a baby!" my eyes widen as i'm caught off guard by her... energy. "yeah i did, thanks." i sit there.

"how's the baby?" georgia asks while poking at my hair. "she's good! she's starting to talk a lot, it's the cutest thing ever. i'll show you a picture." i show her my lockscreen. she looks at me then back at my phone. "she looks just like you! she's so pretty."

i thank her and smile. i'm glad she looked like me. she had parkers eyes and dimples but for the most part she looks like me. "and how are you?" georgia looks at me in the mirror.

ah that question.

"i'm okay, i came here for a new look. i think i'm going to shave my head." i joke watching her mouth drop. "i'm kidding! i don't know what i want to do with my hair. make me look like a whole different person... and i guess my age."

imagine showing up to therapy bald, liam would freak.

"are you sure because i already have a million ideas." she gets excited. "i'm sure."

"surprise!" i jump in front of liam with my hands up. he looks at me crazy for a second then he smiled. "so you actually took my advice, nice." he smirks. "do you like it because i do!" i get excited but i try not to touch it.

"i really do. what made you choose that color?" he opens the door to the coffee shop for me. "i didn't, i just let georgia do whatever." i walk in and get in line. "georgia? i'm guessing that's your hairdresser." i nod.

"for someone who doesn't trust anyone, you sure did trust her with your hair." he smirks at me. "liam i do trust people, i even trust you." i mess with him.

but i actually do trust him.

"i'm your therapist, you have to trust me." liam winks. "you're not my therapist right now, you're my friend." i wink back. "sure, what do you want?" we get to the front. "i'll have what you're having." he says. i order two vanilla cappuccinos then take my wallet out. "i'm paying!" i'm quick to put my card in the machine. liam shakes his head and laughs.

"i can't believe you did that." i watch him shake his head while smiling. "a gift for putting up with my outburst the other day." we move out of the way and wait for our drinks. "that was last night." he says and i tell him to shush. my phone chimes and i take it out of my pocket. parker sent me a text. i automatically smile looking at the photo. "who got you smiling?" i hear.

"it's a picture of parker and maddy, look." i show him, smiling. they look so cute. "she's pretty, just like her mother." liam says catching me off guard. he just called me pretty. maddy too but...

"oh, thanks." i casually brush it off. we just stand there looking around still waiting. "how is parker?" he asks making me frown. "how's your tv?" i completely ignore his question. "replaced. i bought a new one...and sorry for bringing that up. i forgot we're not in my office." he takes his jacket off in a weirdly attractive way.

i look away. lauryn would die right now.

the barista calls our name, we grab our drinks and go sit down. "so... new hair? check. something you like to do? have you figured that out yet?" he says sitting back in his chair. no i haven't. "i tried but realized the only thing i'm good at is being uncoordinated and...that's all i got." i throw my hands up.
