Amirah cuddled into the blanket crying as she recalled what had just happened. Why did she even allow that to happen? Was she drunk? Considering she don't drink, so that made it clear she's in her right senses, just being swept away by an unnecessary emotion. Maybe because she's missing him alot that's what hypnotized her to be seeing him even though she knows it wasn't him.

Khalid had left to work already. He had tried soothing her as she started crying but she told him to just leave her alone and go to his work. She just want to be left alone and cry her heart out.

And once she'd gotten tired of crying, she finally got ready to go to work. She met a note on the dinning with breakfast that Khalid had prepared for her. The note says she should make sure to ate before going to work with another I'm sorry for what happened at the end.

She hissed and sat on the table, propping her legs under the chair as she zoned off.

After series of contemplation and heart whining, she opened the plate just to meet omelette and fried plaintant chips with coffee in a jug. She smiled. Thats all he can cook.

She took a little and went out as nasir had called to make sure she's okay as she don't usually go to work that late. It's already after ten, so she quickly got into her car and drove to the office.

"Nasir our supplies had arrived come and check it out." Amirah said as soon as she got into Nasir's office. She'd arrived from home a while ago, and while she was zoned in her office as usually, one of the staff's incharge of deliveries had promulgated to her the arrival of their hospital equipments which was shipped the night before.

Nasir got up and followed Amirah that had walked back to the exit.

They went to the store and started checking on the hospital utilities that just arrived the company. After making sure that everything's in order, they went back to their offices.

Amirah flopped on her seat and sighed. Next week In Sha Allah they will start distribution since all they needed they've gotten already.

Her thought travelled back to what happened the previous night. She still couldn't reconcile with her conscious and believe that it really happened. Oh, this should be the end of her.

💝💘💝

Khalid was in a blissful mood since he woke up that morning. He felt more love for his wife than he ever had, and his heart was in so much blithe that he feared it might explode due to the potency of his happiness. He had been smiling and grinning at his friends since he came to work, which had caused them to look suspiciously at him.

"Mr happy man when are we going for the arrest." Nuhu, one of Khalid's colleague said as he poked his head into Khalid's office. He pushed the door closed and went directly to the chair opposite Khalid and sat down. "So what's making you this happy?" His eyes was fixed on Khalid as he smiled pleasantly.

"Well, can't I be happy again," Khalid said, then brought out a paper from his drawer and handed it to nuhu. "That's the arrest warrant it's been confirmed they're the bad clique robbing the neighbourhood. I was told by some kids that they do visit the site from twelve noon to two in the afternoon." He sighed and brushed his hand down his face. "Man, I just wanna finish with this arrest and go home."

Nuhu smirked. "Are you missing her already?"

"Why shouldn't I? We just got married barely two months so we're still at it peak." He smirked too, and nuhu couldn't help but to laugh out loud.

"Don't just stick to her like a louse, she'll get tired of you soon."

"Who told you that will happen," Khalid got up and started gathering the papers scattered on his desk and putting it into the drawers. "Lets get going and set a bait for them."

They both went out of the office chatting and laughing as they wend towards the parking lot.

💘

She took off her clothes, donned on a simple house wear and plodded to the kitchen as usual to prepare their meal. It's almost six in the evening, so she decided to make a simple dish of spag and onion-chilli-pepper sauce, with couscous and salad.

She put the pot on the gas after striking the gas to light. As she entered the store to fish out spaghetti, she heard movement towards the kitchen so she quickly traced back just to come eye to eye with Khalid.

"You're back," she said before dashing towards the store once more to retrieve what she went there for.

"Yes sweety!" Khalid answered blithely then got a stool that was propped by the kitchen wall for himself. "Can I help you with something?"

"No thanks," she came back from the store and emptied the spag bag into the boiling water before going for a scooper to turn it so it should not stick together. "How's work any progress on your recent assignment?"

Khalid almost jumped out of his chair in jubilation. She's finally having interest in his life unlike before. "Thanks for asking. Well, we've caught the criminals already even though they kept refuting that they didn't rob the shop that it was another clique that did it."

"So what will you do to them?" She asked as she stirred the spag on fire and them quickly reduced the gas rate.

"They'll be under investigation for a while until they're proven innocent or if found that they're really the culprit then they'll be convicted." He promulgated as he stared at her going up and down the kitchen in hassles. "Are you sure you don't want me to help you with anything?" He couldn't help but to ask again.

"Well," Amirah turned a little and peeked at him. "If you really insisted you can help me with cutting the onion.

Khalid grunted but got up anywhere. "I hate cutting onion, it used to make me cry." He took the onion bowl she handed to him and smiled. "If I cry you'll wipe away my tears."

"Khalid if you're not ready to help just leave the kitchen." She casted a half angry gaze at him and Khalid shook his head quickly.

"No I'll do it."

They finally finshed the dinner as Khalid kept her company, chatting now and then.

They had dinner and Amirah retired to her room as usual, but Khalid was fast in going after her.

She had just laid on her bed after changing into her nighty when khalid trudged into the room in his pj too.

She ignored his presence and went ahead to mount on her bed, but Khalid did the same too.

Amirah sighed and turned a little to look at him. "If you think what happened yesterday will repeat itself today you're wrong."

"But Amirah you're my wife why can't I have you," he whined superficially, and she sighed warily again.

"But we're not like normal couples." She asserted and pulled up the blanket to her body turning her back on him.

"Then let's start behaving like normal couple from now on," he wrapped her waist with his and and placed his head on her back.

"Is not as easy as you think." She whispered, but didn't push him away as he snuggled more on her body behind her.

"There's nothing hard in it Amirah uhh, just let me get to your heart I promise I won't hurt you sincerely. Wallah I love you since the day I set my eyes on you."

Amirah quickly turned to him and arrested him with her gaze. He'd loved her since the day he met her even though he knows she's with Amin, though there was a rift between them then. She couldn't stop fretting and she couldn't staunch her mind from surmising unnecessary thoughts about him.

Khalid kissed her forehead and smiled. "Are you surprised that I've loved you that long?"

She shook her head inarticulately, for her voice had faded into the new series of prejudices she'd formed in her head against him, but she dared not ask him any question about it.

But surely, time will reveal that!
