"Honestly Sala was one sick kid" Gerald commented as he took the turn into the highway which was no longer flooded
"He had gone through a lot, I can't blame him" Jessica defended the boy
"Duude he mutilated them, the guy was a psycho from day one he was just waiting for a stresser" protested Gerald
"But why kill people now, they did not wrong him in any way" Jessica said
"He's a psycho, like I said" Gerald said
"No I think he is trying to show the police they can't protect everyone" Richard said
"Meaning?" asked Gerald
"I'll explain the rest at the station" said Richard
They drove for a short while and were at the station before lunch. Everyone gathered in the conference room awaiting to hear what they had to say.
"Lay it out Three Muskateers" Don said as he lay back in chair
"When do you even think of these things?" Casey said
"What can I say, I'm an intellect" Don praised himself
Richard narrated their visit and what had been said to them trying as hard as possible not to leave out any important details. Most of the crew looked like people watching a 3D horror movie as they processed the unholy acts of young Sala.
"God" Don said sitting up straight in his seat
"Wooooow" Casey said and everyone else remained quiet, they were speechless
"So why kill now?" Jessica asked
"He is trying to show the police that they can not protect everyone" Richard said
"The police let him down when his mother was murdered, they failed to exact the justice" Johnny said
"What if, before his mother died he went to report the abuse and no action was taken" Casey suggested
"And the detectives also failed to nail his father" Fitz said
"Wow only God knows how much trauma he went through" Carol said in a low voice
"Too much for a child to handle, he lost it a long time ago" Don said
"I disagree" Sanchez argued
"No Sanchez there is no coming back for him, I've read about serial killers but the greater percentage never killed children and if they did they showed remorse" said Richard "Sala has no remorse Sanchez, its like he has no soul" he added and Sanchez did not argue further
"So if I'm reading your signals here you are saying shoot to kill?" Don asked for clarification
"Yes" replied Richard
"And you are saying it like it is right Richard" Sanchez said with disappointment in his voice
"That's taking the law into our hands you know we can't do that" Jessica disagreed
"Dude so you were going to kill him at the fuel station even if he hadn't tried to fled?" Gerald said
"Yes" Richard said toneless
"That's just cold man, not cool" Don commented
"You might disagree with me but Sala will not stop unless he's put down, I'm not trying to be negative or what but the possibility that we'll catch him is very slim and if we do, trust me there is no reforming for people like him. They don't deserve to live" Richard said with a dark serious expression on his face
