"Cough! Cough! Cough! Cough!"
Both Shizui and JinLing's attention diverted to the source of voilent cough. They asked in unison, "What happened?"
Ofcourse it was Jingyi who was coughing like hell just now. He felt he was being left behind by his own fellas. So, he had to cough to make them feel his presence.
He shouted, "What?! I'm human, I can cough!"
Shizui asked with concern, "Did you catch cold? You were fine just now."
Right then, a lady boss from behind called them out, "Hey Young Master, did you catch cold? You've been coughing very much. We've got the best soup here to soothe your cough."
Jingyi, "..."
JinLing didn't wait for anyone. He directly walked towards the restaurant. If someone could look closely they would find that though his face wasn't blushing anymore, his ears were still red.
He waved his hand, "Season is changing, so its easy catch cold. Lets go and have some warm soup, it would be good for health."
Jingyi looked at him with wide eyes. For a moment not believing if the person in front of him was really the actual person he knew. He blink twice before replying, "Huh okay."
Then he placed his left arm around Shizui's neck, and tilted his face towards him and said, "Shizui lets divide the money-"
But before he could even finish his full sentence he was smacked down by a pair of hands. He suddenly landed on the ground, he was unprepared for it that his butt hurt. He looked up and said through gritted teeth, "You moron JinLin...g...?"
He was trailed off in his sentence when he made contact with the one who smacked him. It was obviously JinLing, but at the same time was it really JinLing? His eyes were so cold, colder than the frost. As if warning him for something. He only gulped and thought it would be better not to continue for now.
Shizui hurriedly said, "Ah.. JinLing you shouldn't push him like this." Then he turned around to give Jingyi his hand.
Jingyi, ofcourse knew whats better for him. He bitterly smiled, "I can get up myself."
Just then he was about to get up, another hand came forward to help. This time, he was totally flabbergasted. He looked at the owner of this hand.
JinLing had turned his head to other side so that he would be able to see their face, and just offered his hand to help Jingyi get up.
Jingyi really didn't knew whether to laugh or to cry. Whether this person was cray or he was stupid.
Thus, he accepted both the hands, and got up.
Then they casually entered the restaurant as if nothing strange had happened just now. That lady boss was scared if the Young Masters of the prominent Sects would have mood swing then it won't be good for her business.
She offered them the table of the corner seat. Shizui and Jingyi sat in front of the wall, and JinLing sat opposite to them.
Soon, the hot soup arrived. JinLing first pick up his chopstick and put aside the green grass or the so called vegetables.
On the other hand, Shizui and Jingyi took the wooden spoon and started drinking the soup without any complaint.
It was too silent. It wasn't like the place was silent, the restaurant was filled with customers, as it was soon gonna be noon. But there table was unlikely silent.
Shizui was ofcourse the best Lan boy, he would eat his meal silently. But to JinLing's expectation Jingyi wasn't like this. He was growing uneasy because of lack of communication in his table.
He called, "Lady boss!"
Lady boss was busy in the kitchen, so she had sent one of her worker. That waiter hurriedly came over to their table and polietly asked, "Is ther something the Young Master needs?"
JinLing didn't even bait an eye on that waiter. He was swirling the soup with chopstick. He asked with a sullen expression, "Do you have lotus toot soup?"
The waiter answered, "Yes sir, we have. How many bowls do you need?"
"One."
"Two please."
JinLing finally removed his eyes from the damp soup and rolled his eyes up to look at the person with such an ethereal voice and gentle tone. Then he immidiately retreated his gaze back to his soup.
He knew if he keep on looking at that person he heart would for sure bounce out of his throat.
"No three!"
This time JinLing for real rolled his eyes. He said, "You should have said me, I would have directly ordered, why shouting 'No three'?!"
Jingyi pointed his wooden spoon at him and said, "You didn't ask. I didn't say."
JinLing totally felt disgusted by that spoon tht was still dripping the soup.
He shouted, "Ew! Put that thing away from me!" Then he turned to the waiter, "Okay it three bowl of lotus root soup."
Shizui said, "Jingyi put the spoon down. Its good to point at someone."
Jingyi only side eyes him, and put the spoon back to its place. Then took a spoonful of soup and gulped it.
JinLing too focused on his soup. But his mind was dwelling. To be honest, he did not like tge soup at all. That was the reason, from the beigning he was onky swirling the plain vegetable soup.
He gave some thoughts to his actions. First he stared at Shizui for particulary no reason, then he smacked down Jingyi, and even he himself doesn't know why. Its that his heart just itched when he saw how casually Jingyi was able to keep his arm around Shizui. But later he offered help to Jingyi, because he thought his action just was not a very absurd. And now this.
Literally what the heck was going on in his brain?! Was his screw loose or what?
JinLing couldn't help but be more embarrassed.
He thought of the last words that Jingyi casually said 'You didn't ask. I didn't say.'
He thought 'Hmm... Isn't this very relatable.' He unconciously looked at Shizui and repeated those words in his mind 'You didn't ask. I didn't say.'
Shizui somehow must've felt the warm gaze of someone. He looked up and met with his eyes. He was taken aback for a moment, but then smiled. JinLing was resting his chin on his left hand and swirling his soup with the other. Suddenly been attacked by that smile of his, JinLing's hand went soft, and his face almost landed on the soup.
"Ah... JinLing." Shizui exclaimed.
Jingyi said, "Are you sleeping?"
JinLing put aside the soup and flatly said, "I didn't like this soup. I'm waiting the lotus root soup."
Shizui, "..."
Jingyi, "Oh"
