Selo sat on the box, anticipating an inkling coming her way. Her visor pin points into their exact location. Her fingers gripping the Octo Shot in her hands. She sighed as she got off the box and ran towards the noise of footsteps, readying herself. The inkling turned the corner when Selo shot the inkling in the face.
"WHAT THE CARP!?" Selo put her hand over the inklings mouth when she hit them with more ink. The inkling was then pushed to the ground and splatted. Purple ink surrounded where the inkling once laid. Selo watched the inklings soul float to the nearest spawn point. Too easy. She thought to herself. That's when she heard a beeping in her ear.
"Soldier 1845. Report on the situation?" A voice asked. "Commander, sir. The situation has been taken care of. All Inklings have been splatted." "Good. I look forward to your service as a lieutenant." "Thank you sir." The voice stopped speaking, indicating the call was over. Selo stretches her arms towards the sky as she walked to the nearest sewer entrance. "I can't wait to be able to use something besides this stupid octo shot." She said out loud, morphing into an octopus. She easily slipped through the sewer grate, unaware someone was watching.

As she came out of the sewers from the other side, a tall figure was waiting. "Commander." "Lieutenant." She morphed out of her octopus form and walked pass the figure. She walked through the door to the barracks then into her room, plopping onto the bed. She takes off the visor, her eyes colored a golden yellow. The whites of her eyes tainted red. She put her visor to the side of the bed, her octo shot beside it. As she sighed, she realized something wasn't right. Something was amiss. She sat up quickly and lurched forward, covering her mouth. As she sat up with wide eyes, black liquid leaked out from her mouth. She leaned back to grab her octo shot, and let go of her mouth. Her mouth opened wide as black liquid poured out. Tears slowly fell as she felt herself sinking into the black ink. What the... I can't breathe. She then felt something grab her leg. NO! Not yet! She clawed at the edge, trying to stay out. As she reached for her visor, the thing pulling her leg yanked at her. The ink tank on her back threatened to break. She decided that was more important and stopped reaching for the visor as she sank into the liquid. She succumbed to the darkness of her mind as she floated through the liquid.
