Jungkook slowly pulled his life back to normal. Or so he pretended for the sake of his family and friends. There isn't anything he can do about the feelings he has for Taehyung but he's not going to act upon it anymore. Specially since Taehyung called him a nuisance.

He can't really be mad at Taehyung too. It's not his fault. It's not like they were dating and Taehyung broke things off. They are literally strangers.

Jungkook stopped looking at Taehyung in the morning when he went to work but there's nothing he can do about when Taehyung comes for lunch at the diner. It's good to get your daily dose of Taehyung and Jungkook hopes that he'll be able to get over him eventually.

Taehyung is relieved that Jungkook seems to have stopped giving him attention. No matter how much it makes his heart ache, that is what's best for the boy.

One day Taehyung was coming back from work and saw a car stopped on the road and a person looking in to the open bonnet.

"Hey man, you need any help?" Taehyung asked as he stopped his bike near the car.

A handsome man with brown hair peaked from the open bonnet.

"Yes please. I don't know what's wrong with this fucking car." The man said in a desperate tone.

"Ha ha. Let's see." Taehyung looked in to the bonnet, checking for the issue. "Is this car not used regularly?"

"Uh... Nope. This was actually the first time after a while." The man replied as he scratched his nape with a shy smile.

"I thought so. There was a wire that was slightly loose. Try starting it now." Taehyung said as he pulled back.

A look of relief pass over to the man's face as he was able to start the car successfully.

"Oh God, thanks man. You are my new hero. I'm Hoseok. Jung Hoseok." Taehyung shook his hand.

"I'm Kim Taehyung."

"Are you just passing by here or new to the town? I haven't seen you before."

"I'm new here. I actually moved in about 2 months ago."

"Ah ok. Thank you for helping me out. Let me repay you by treating you to a meal."

"That's ok. You don't have to do that man."

"No, I want to. Do you know Mitch's diner?"

"Yeah, I know the place."

"How about we meet there for lunch tomorrow. Say at about 12.30?"

Taehyung thought for a while. It wasn't actually a big deal and he will anyway be having lunch at the said diner every day.

"Ok." Taehyung replied with a smile.

"It's a date." Hoseok said all seriously but burst out in laughter when he saw Taehyung's shocked face.

"I'm kidding man!! Loosen up!!" You look too stiff." Hoseok said as he gave Taehyung a radiant smile and Taehyung couldn't help but smile back either. It was contagious.

Taehyung came to the diner exactly at 12.30. He went inside, habitually glancing at the counter where Jungkook normally stands but he was not there today.

Taehyung looked around and saw Hoseok, he was talking animatedly with someone. The person had their back to Taehyung but it was not hard to recognize Jungkook.

"Hey Taehyung." Hoseok greeted him as he walks near his table. Taehyung felt uneasy when he saw what he was wearing.

A police uniform.

Taehyung tried not to show any reaction to it as he took the seat opposite Hoseok and Jungkook immediately shifted himself little away from the seat.

"I'll get you your favorite Hobi hyung" Jungkook said as Hoseok gave him a fond smile.

"Thanks Kookie."

Jungkook then turned to Taehyung.

"C-can I bring you your usual?" Jungkook asked in a cautious voice.

Taehyung looked at the boy for a second. "What's his Favorite? Can I try that?"

Taehyung wasn't sure what made him say that. He just wanted few more seconds of Jungkook's time.

"Y-you wouldn't l-like it." Jungkook looked shocked just as the words left his mouth. He looked at Taehyung with fear in his eyes.

Taehyung felt his heart aching at the sight of the scared boy.

"Oh ok. I'll have my usual then."

Jungkook gave a curt nod and practically ran out of there. Hoseok was looking at them with interest.

"Do you know Jungkook?" Hoseok asked from Taehyung.

"Uhh... sort of. I live next door to him." Taehyung replied and Hoseok gave a nod in understanding.

"How do you know him?" Taehyung asked.

"Oh he's the brother of the police chief. Well, brother-in-law actually. And anyway, it's a small town Taehyung. Everyone knows everyone here." Hoseok explained with a smile.

Yep. So it would seem.

When their food arrived, Taehyung immediately realized why Jungkook said that. Hoseok's favorite was a prawn soup.

Taehyung was allergic to prawns. He was sure he never told about it to Jungkook. Or anyone.

Taehyung frowned at the depth of Jungkook's interest in him.

The lunch was very enjoyable. Hoseok was like a walking ray of sunshine. He had an exceptional sense of humor and was funny as fuck. Midway through lunch, Taehyung found himself laughing till his sides were aching.

He hadn't laughed like that in a long time that it almost felt foreign and weird to his body.

He was aware of the increased frequency of looks that Jungkook was giving him too. At first, a smile came to Jungkook's face every time Taehyung laughed as if he was genuinely happy for the other.

But after a while, another emotion took its place. Taehyung was used to the way Jungkook normally looks at him but the new emotion took him by surprise.

Jungkook was looking at him with jealousy and possessiveness in his eyes and it actually scared Taehyung.

That was the look a person in love would give, to anyone else that comes close to their lover. A look at Yoona used to wear in her face, all the time.

May 20th

I met with my new friend today. Hoseok. He's really a funny guy. You know I haven't laughed like this in a long time Yoona. It felt good. I think I'm gonna like this one. I really really need a friend. I met him at Jungkook's diner. I still don't know why I can't stop going to that place. True, that's the only place good enough to eat here but I don't know whether it's worth the risk. I ask him to stay away from me but it's I think it's me that have trouble staying away from him. I'm trying but looks like I'm falling miserably. And the look that he gave me today. I used to get shit scared when you looked at me like that. That look meant trouble. It's strange to see that on Jungkook's innocent face. Guess he is not as soft as I thought. There is a tiger in him. I hope to God that I won't wake it up.
