Scene 13

Matthew's POV

I wake up with a smile on my face. I decided to skip my run for today, but I'm not able to fall back asleep. I look to see Hannah very peacefully sleeping. So, I just stay there and hold onto her until she wakes up.

I stayed like that for about an hour then Hannah stirs slowly awake. She sees me and smiles. Then she pecks me on the lips. Then we heard a noise.

Alice: Awww. Adam they kissed.

Hannah started to immediately blushed.

Adam: Did you finally admit the truth?

Alice: Wait you knew?

Adam: Bro code. I couldn't tell you.

Matthew: Alice before you get upset. You didn't tell me you guys were engaged. This is not as big of news.

Alice: Hmph.

Adam: Well we should all get ready. We're raising the flag at 8:00, and there's 5 of us, one shower, and two hours.

Max: Dibs on first!

Max jumped over the bed rail and ran to the bathroom.

Matthew: Well he's anxious to see a certain someone.

Max (Through the bathroom door): Well my girl didn't get assigned to this room.

Hannah: Ooooh, your girl.

Adam: Sounds serious.

Max: Shut up!

Alice: Let's leave him be.

We then all got ready and headed out. We were wearing what we normally wear just a bit more festive for the holiday. We met everyone at the dock. Once *:00 rolled around We hoisted the flag up the pole.

Lenny: Happy Fourth of July, everyone.

Matthew: And happy birthday to Hanna Higgins!

We all cheered she blushed insanely and hid her face in my chest. Everyone awed or laughed. Then we remembered we were releasing the bird today.

Lenny: It's the birdy's Independence Day too, so keep your fingers crossed.

It flew I passed Adam 20 dollars as I thought that my dad did too much damage. Hannah saw the money and jabbed me. Luckily Alice jabbed Adam as well.

After we went back in to have breakfast we came back out and just sat at the dock. We just talked like normal until Alice spoke up.

Alice: Hannah, I want to ask you to be my Maid of Honor

Hannah: REALLY!!!! EEEEH!!!! YES! YES! YES! I'll do it.

Adam: Matt, Can you be my best man?

I decided to mock my girlfriend.

Matthew (High Pitch Girl Voice):REALLY!!!! EEEEH!!!! YES! YES! YES! I'll do it.

Hannah slapped me hard.

Matthew: Ouch. But Seriously bro, I'll be honored.

Adam: Cool.

Max: What about me?

Adam: Groomsman?

Max: I'll take it.

Alice: Great! I'll make sure that you and Amber are lined up next to each other.

Max smiled brightly. We all laughed at that until we heard screaming as we saw Marcus running being chased by a wobbling Rob. Rob had a board game in his hand. Marcus ran up to the flagpole and was about to jump.
