*Lana POV

I was in homeroom. We were getting ready for a final exam. But this wasn't an ordinary exam. We were going to be alone out in the park for half an hour. Such a bad idea. And when I say park, I mean like Central Park style park, with a fountain and everything.

Well, we weren't really alone. We had a supervisor, and she HATED me. Now, was she a monster? I'm not telling. We'll get to the monsters are later.

So, we were all outside in the "gated garden," as we like to call it. It was actually the Nancy Academy Park. As soon as everyone was out there, are exam finally started.

Now there are bullies at my school, of course. 3 girls and 3 boys. They always hung out together. The boys were giving everyone wedgies. The girls were applying several layers of make-up to their flaw-free faces. I was just glaring at them. Hey, they were jerks.

Finally, Paige, the "leader" of the girl group, made the mistake of walking up to me and trying to tick me off.

"Here's some make-up. You could use to make you less, uh, ugly," Paige said, with mock politeness. Her friends smirked.

"Haha. Hilarious joke Paige. You really think that I'm going to put on this trash?" I snapped. I was starting to lose my temper, which wasn't good.

"Oh you didn't just call my makeup trash," said Paige, outraged by what I had said. "Fine. You can be ugly, for all I care."

That comment was enough to make me snap. I didn't touch her, but the next thing I knew Paige was in the fountain, drenched from head to toe, her mascara dripping down her face.

"What the..."

Did the water just..."

"It just grabbed her."

"But Lana didn't even touch her"

Other kids started talking to each other in confusion. I was just as confused as them. What did happen? The boys who are friends with Paige had seen the whole thing.

"Why you dirty little..." Paige shrieked in anger.

I didn't hear the rest. I had been smirking at Paige, half confused by what just happened and half pleased that I just taught her a lesson, but I didn't notice the three boys running at me.

The next thing I knew I was laying laying flat on my back, with my head buzzing.

What just happened, I thought.

The three boys standing above me.

"Great," I mumbled.

I blinked and they somehow teleported away from me.

"What the..." I stammered. This day was getting weird.

That's when I noticed the boys. They were staring at me. So were the girls.

I also noticed that they were changing. Like, really changing. The girls were turning into creatures with red eyes, fangs, claws instead of hands, and mismatched legs, one a donkey and the other made of metal. Empousia. Creepy, extremely creepy. The boys started to grow. Soon they were at least 7 feet tall. Lastrigonians.

"Awsome. I'm hallucinating. This day just gets better and better," I said, my head still spinning.

"Oh, my dear, we are no hallucination," someone said. Great, I thought, now there's Mrs. Dodds. I know what you are thinking, the Mrs. Dodds? Yup, it was her. Yippee.

Then she started to transform. She was a Fury. Thank god that I knew my mythology.

"Oh. My. God! What is happening?!" I screamed.

It's quite simple, honey. The sea god has broken the oath once again. So you must die. My friends," she looked at the other monsters, "Destroy her!"

Great, I thought, I'm going to wake up now. Please?

I don't remember what happened. Some how, I survived. I only got scratched by an empousia. Eventually, however, I got pinned down by Paige.

"I've been waiting for this moment for a long time!" She snarled.

Just then, a bronze-like sword went through her stomach, inches away from mine.

"No," Paige gasped. She turned into gold dust.
