Chapter 6 Weapons and Conditions

Lana POV

It was about time.

Chiron introduced me to the camp during the camp fire, and that's when it happened.

My father claimed me.

At first everything was normal. Chiron introduced me. Apparently the camp director was busy. Right as Chiron said my name, everyone gasped. Percy had that look of 'I'm extremely happy but everything is normal'. I looked up and saw a glowing trident spinning above my head. I thought that Percy would show his happiness. I wonder why.

That's when I remembered my mutant powers. Oh gods, I thought, I hope Percy doesn't mind me doing this. I mean I'm only looking for the answer to my question. So I stared at him and looked into his mind, and this is what I saw:

"What's wrong?" Annabeth asked.

"It's Lana," he replied.

"The new demigod?"

"Yes. She heard Blackjack talk. And she said that she never knew her dad. That leaves me to think that her dad is..."

"Don't say it" Annabeth cut Percy off. "We now have a really good guess on who her father is."

"I was afraid that you were going to say that," He replied.

That's where I stopped. I looked away from Percy, trying to act like I hadn't done anything. He already knew, I thought. Why didn't he tell me?

Percy POV

Lana looked at me. Her eyes turn black. What is she doing? I thought. Then her eyes turned back to the normal sea-green color, and she looked away, her face a little red.

Chiron bowed to Lana, the other campers following his lead.

"Hail, Lana Grayson. Daughter of Poseidon, Earthshaker, father of horses, God of the Sea," he shouted. Lana's face was extremely red.

After the campfire, we all went to go get our armor on for capture the flag. I had to help Lana. When we went to cabin 3 and got our armor on, I noticed something on Lana's bed.

"Hey, Lana. What's that on your bed?" I asked her.

"What?" She replied. She saw where I was staring and said, "I don't know. It looks like a pen and some sort of watch, with an envelope."

I felt my face pale. "Well, go open it."

Lana walked over and opened the letter. Her face brightened and she read, "This pen would be a weapon made by Tyson, your half brother. And the moon charm on the bracelet is a bow, with arrows, which is a gift from Artemis. She and I have noticed that you like archery. Pull on the charm and your bow will appear. If you tap on the bracelet, you will get a shield. None of my children particularly like archery but you are different. Also, the fates have warned me about your, er, condition. Be careful in what you say and do. With love, Dad."

My face went red. Dad had never given me gifts like that. Actually, never mind. Tyson gave me a shield and dad gave me Riptide. But I did notice how my father had said that he had been warned about Lana's condition.

"What did he mean by condition?" I asked Lana.

Lana POV

"Okay, if I tell you, you have to swear not to tell anyone until I let you know that you can," I replied. Gods, I didn't like to talk about my 'condition'.

"I swear on the river Styx not to tell anyone until you let me know that I can."

"Well, I'm not just a demigod. I'm a mutant. A telepathic mutant to be exact."

"Aren't mutants bad?" Was his reply.

"No. At least I'm not," I told him. "Look, we should get going. We are going to to be late."

"Ya," he said. I noticed that he looked a little afraid. I grabbed my pen and charm bracelet.

"Um, do you know how to, like, activate the, um, weapons," I asked shyly. He chuckled. "Just click the pen."

I clicked it. And it turned into a full sword, with the Greek word Ανεμοστρόβιλος written on the flat of the blade. In my mind, the translated to Whirlwind. "Whirlwind," I laughed/choked out. Percy laughed, "Just like my sword." He pulled out a pen and clicked it, and it turned into a sword that said Riptide in Greek. "Wow," was all I could say. "I supposed I just tap the charm to get my bow?"

"Well, someone's a quick learner," was all I got in reply. Because the sound of a conch horn filled the sky. It was time for capture the flag.

And I was about to get demolished by the Ares team.

A/N IM SOOO SORRY THAT I HAVENT UPDATED IN A LONG TIME! I have been reading other fan fictions for I ideas. So ya, I updated now, and am working on chapter 7.
