Arabella's POV
After breakfast, myself and the twins parted ways with Harry, Hermione and Ron. It's a shame they're a year below us because it means we don't share any on the same classes together.
As we were walking towards the charms classroom door, I turned towards Fred.
"Fred, make sure you talk to Angelina soon, she's rather confused on your intentions with her."
"Who said I have any intentions with her?" Fred grinned.
"Come on Freddie don't play dumb, if you like her then tell her you like her. If you don't like her then don't beat around the bush about it. You gotta be honest with her otherwise you will look like a prick."
George gasped sarcastically, "Oh Fred you don't want that! You better talk her soon, infact... she's in the class now, go sit with her."
"Good idea George, go on Fred" I grinned as we stepped into the classroom.
"Yeah whatever George, you only want to get rid of me so you can sit with Arabella by yourself" Fred winked as he walked away, heading towards Angelina who was sat by herself.
I looked up at George, curious about what he thought about what Fred just said. Instead of looking back down at me, he just coughed nervously before leading us to a table near the back of the class- two rows behind Fred and Angelina.
I would be lying if I said I wasn't disappointed with George's reaction, but I decided to brush it off as we sat down for class.

Charms class was rather uneventful. However, every so often when I would turn a page in my book, my hand would graze George's ever so slightly. I would pretend not to notice but in the corner of my eye I could often see him smirking at me.
By potions class, Fred had spilled all the news about where him and Angelina stood. He told us that he had explained to her that he does not currently want to commit to her whilst he is not 100% sure of what he wants. But he did say that he is interested to see how it went with her and promised Angelina he would spend more time with her. Fred then started going off on a tangent about how its important to vocalise how you feel about someone before Snape came up behind us and smacked a book behind all of our heads for talking in class. Classic.
By this point it was now lunch, and the twins and I were perched under a tree outside. The boys sat and bantered back and fourth whilst I leaned against the tree with a book in my lap, watching their interaction.
I was laughing at Fred calling George a ginger git when I noticed my ex and his friends walking towards me. He was a certain Hufflepuff known as Cedric Diggory.
We dated during out fifth year for around 6 months. But every since he won the Triwizard tournament, his ego went through the roof. Basically, Cedric had a really big head, metaphorically speaking of course. His large ego made him appear rather cocky and arrogant, meaning he sometimes didn't treat me very well. I thought I had fallen in love but after the 6 months we spent together, I soon realised I was blinded by his confidence and charm.
Cedric strode towards us, trying to maintain his confident composure. His friends followed behind him. The twins sat up and faced Cedric, with me still leaned on the tree behind them.
"Can we help you, Diggory?" Fred huffed whilst George glared up at Cedric stood infront of us.
The twins never liked Cedric, and rightfully so. Cedric didn't respect my friendship with the twins and constantly told me I could only spend time with them when he said so. He also got in the twins' bad books due to me crying to the boys multiple times over someone Cedric had done. But it was the last straw when I found out that Cedric was cheating on me behind my back. I remember walking into his dorm room to find Lavender Brown straddled around his waist with her mouth attached to his neck. I had never felt so heartbroken. The twins wanted to make him pay but I insisted that they just let it be, and that they just be happy that the trio was now back to it's full force.
"Actually boys, I have come to speak to Arabella, not you" Cedric scoffed.
I rolled my eyes before getting up from the ground and standing infront of Cedric.
"What is it Cedric? What could you possibly need to speak to me about?" I said, unamused.
"Well I was wondering if you wanted to hang out tonight, just me and you."
"And why would I do that?" I could hear the twins sniggering behind me.
"I miss you. Come on, don't tell me you don't miss me too."
I rolled my eyes at Cedric again as both Fred and George were now stood by my sides.
"I'd hate to embarrass you infront of all your friends Cedric but I would rather take the Black Quill punishment from Umbridge a thousand times before I even considered giving you the time of day."
I felt George squeeze on my hand, indicating that I was doing well with standing up for myself. I returned his small gesture with a smile.
"I think you should just piss off Diggory, she clearly isn't interested." Fred exclaimed.
"Come on don't be like this Belle, please-"
"No" George pipes up, "Don't you dare call her Belle. You lost the right to call her that the day you decided to shag someone else, you tosspot. You have enough nerve coming over here in the first place, let only thinking that Arabella would even consider going back to you- she's smarter than that... and she's too good for you. So I suggest you and your friends piss off before me and Fred have to take matters into our own hands."
I watched George in awe. Hearing him say I was too good for Cedric made me cheeks go rosy as I continued watching the twins threaten him to leave.
"Whatever, let's go lads." Cedric huffed and he walked away, his crew following behind.
"What a prick, as if he thought that he would get past us aye George... George you alright mate?" Fred asked.
I turned away from Fred to witness George with his fists clenched and him breathing heavily through his nose. He still had his eyes on Cedric in the distance, anger growing in his eyes.
"George mate you alright?"
"Fuck I just hate him, he had no place even showing his face infront of us. If he comes near you again Belle I'll kill him I swear. He doesn't get to treat you the way he did and get away with-"
"Hey," I saw softly whilst placing my hands on his cheeks, making his eyes gaze onto me instead. Georges breathing immediately slowed, and he released his clenched fists. "Its okay, he's gone now."
His eyes stared deeply into mine as I gazed back up at him. My left thumb delicately rubbed against his cheek in efforts to calm him down further. As I watched his gaze fall down to my lips, and back up to my eyes, my stomach began to flutter. Why was he staring at my lips? Was he thinking about kissing me? Was I thinking about kissing him?
An awkward cough from Fred shot us both from out trance, with me quickly pulling my hands away and George stepping back slightly. The warm feeling I had felt disappeared, and an awkward and rather embarrassed one took its place.
"Right" Fred sighed, trying to ignore the awkward tension that had been formed, "I think it's time for Transfigurations. Maybe will can learn how to turn Diggory into a toilet brush."
George and I replied with a laugh; I was relieved Fred was easing some of the awkwardness.
I walked back over to the tree stump to collect my books before telling the boys I was ready to leave.
As we walked down to McGonagall's class, I couldn't help but think about the moment I shared with George, and whether he noticed it too. I mean it couldn't have just been me who felt that butterfly feeling in my stomach when we stared into each others eyes. Or maybe I was just overthinking it and George didn't make anything of that moment.
My thoughts were interrupted when I felt a slight graze of a pinky finger against my own hand as we paced down the hallway. I look to see it was George's hand who had grazed with my own; a smile plastered on his face. I gave him a small smile back and turned to look ahead of me again.
Maybe he did feel something?
