Finally! After almost a month! Online Classes + College is no joke and burnout is real. Our exams just ended, now I have to face these drawing plates and my other requirements. Anyways, enjoy this one!

[He ditched you?!] tanong ni Navi nang ikinuwento kong umalis si Lex kanina. Hindi na ako nagtaka kung bakit alam niya na agad 'to at tumawag pa talaga sa'kin para sumagap lang ng chika. Namumuro na talaga sa'kin si Levi, makukutusan ko talaga 'yon pag nagkita kami.

"Well he had an emergency." I reasoned out because that's the truth!

[So he ditched you.] it is now a statement. I can see her stifling a giggle because of what she heard. Siguradong mang-aasar na naman 'to.

"You can say that but he had reasons." depensa ko pa rin. I was quite hurt of course because I was alone there. Pagkatapos akong gulatin dahil sa tanong kung gusto ko raw bang mag-lunch, iiwan ako? Wag gano'n.

[Poor Calli... Ano namang dahilan?] kyuryoso niyang tanong.

"May tumawag sa kanya eh, ewan may emergency daw." walang gana kong sagot. I just told her what I heard and not my assumptions. Hindi ko naman alam kung totoo ang nabuo sa utak ko kaya bakit ko ipagkakalat?

[Hmmm... bakit parang malungkot?] I don't know how she detects that but was it really obvious?

"Hindi ah! Bye, I still have things to do." I said. Dismissing the topic. I still need to do a lot of things so I started working for the remaining office hours since half of my day was spent at the site.

Ela spoke through the intercom and said "Engr., Atty. Sevilla is on the other line. Would you like me to transfer the call?"

"Ok. Thanks." I briefly answered.

"Do you have any concerns, Atty. Sevilla?" I asked when Ela transferred the call on my telephone.

[Uh... no. I-I just want to apologize for leaving you earlier.] regret is obvious in his tone. Ilang beses ko nang nasabing ayos lang pero parang di siya kumbinsido.

"Hala! Walang problema! You don't have to apologize, I already told you that it's okay."

[How can I make it up to you?] tanong niya pa kahit wala naman na talagang kaso sa'kin 'yon. I know that his apologies are sincere so that's enough. Isa pa, i-tinake out ko kaya ang mga pagkain na hindi nagalaw kaya mas ayos na 'yon. I shared the food with Ela and gave some to dad.

[No need, Atty... really.] I assured him. Narinig ko naman ang buntong hininga niya sa kabilang linya.

[Ok. Again, I'm sorry.] he regretfully said.

[No problem.] I smiled though he can't see me. Nagpaalam na rin siya matapos kong sabihin 'yon.
