Chapter 29

"I love you, Jo." I can hear the sincerity in his voice. Kakalas na sana ako sa pagkakayakap niya pero hinigpitan niya pa lalo ang pagkakayakap sa akin.

"Pinapaalala ko lang. Don't feel pressured to say it back, please." he calmly said. I know that I love him, that I still love him and that never faded, instead, it grew deeper.

I am already accomplishing my goals in life, little by little, but I want to heal completely first before committing to this relationship again because he deserves that.

Ilang minuto pa kaming nanatili sa ganoong posisyon, kahit walang nagsasalita ay tila nag-uusap ang mga puso namin at nagkakaintindihan ang mga 'yon.

"Ingat ka. Salamat ulit." saad ni Lex bago bumaba ng sasakyan ko. Inihatid ko kasi siya sa opisina niya dahil naroon pa ang sasakyan niya.

"You too, Lex. Goodnight." I smilled at him before rolling my windows up again and driving away, I saw him waving at me on my rear view mirror.

I love how he's still the same, he never pressured me to say those words back, just like before. I am loving him more because I can see how he improved, how he grew alone even thought it has really been hard for the both of us.

"May I pick you up before and after work?" We are eating ice cream in an ice cream parlour. Bumili kasi ako ng mga damit, karamihan ay para sa trabaho, at sumama naman siya dahil nabanggit ko noong isang beses na tumawag siya. He's still clingy, I guess.

Ngumuso ako at nag-isip. "It's a hassle on your part." I shrugged. I know that the distance from Mandaluyong to Makati is not that far but we both work and I can drive for myself.

"On days that I'm not busy, may I pick you up?" Pagbabago niya ng tanong.

I figured that his proposition is reasonable so I just shrugged. "As long as I won't be an inconvenience, it's okay with me."

"Kelan ka ba nakaabala sa'kin?" he snorted while pointing at himself. "Malabo." sabi niya at umiiling pa. I rolled my eyes at him that made him chuckle.

"So... May I start tomorrow, Engr.?" tanong niya habang nakasubo ang kutsarang may lamang ice cream, itinataas-baba niya pa ang mga kilay niya.

I smiled at him and nodded. "Well, yes you may, Atty."

Gaya nang sinabi niya ay sinusundo niya nga ako sa bahay namin para ihatid sa opisina at tuwing hapon ay sinusundo niya ako para ihatid sa bahay. 

After a week of doing that, I thought that he really doesn't have to do that for me since I also have a car  so we both agreed that he'll fetch me on alternating days.

We don't need to see each other always, we are both professionals now. Kapag busy naman si Lex ay nagsasabi siya kung mahahatid at sundo niya ba ko o hindi.
