Serena woke up. She felt Ash's arm around her waist pushing her to him. She blushed. She could not believe that she was waking up right next to him. Although it had been one week since they decided to run away and she would always sleep next to Ash, she still felt butterflies by waking up next to him. Carefully she got up and saw Clemont and Bonnie making breakfast.

"Good morning," She said. She smiled at the siblings.

"Good morning Serena. Where's Ash?" Clemont asked

"He is still asleep," Serena said smiling "I can not believe it's already been a week since we run away... It has been such an amazing time. Thanks for coming along guys"

"You're welcome Sere," Bonnie said running to Serena hugging her. Serena and Bonnie became fast friends since the beginning of their journey.

"Do you need any help making breakfast?" Serena asked Clemont

"Can you go with Bonnie get some woods to make a fire?" Serena nodded. Bonnie grabbed Serena's hand and the two left. They talked while walking and grabbing some sticks of wood that they find.

The forest was the sweet colour of autumn. Leaves filled the ground. Pokémon looking around for food to get ready for winter. A finnikin ran to Serena and Bonnie when they were picking up some branches. Serena surprised gave Fennekin a poképuff and they became friends in no time.

"Serena, are you hearing this?" Bonnie asked

"What?" Serena asked but suddenly heard the noises of horses coming in their direction. Could it be? Serena grabbed Bonnie's hand and Fennekin and hide behind a tree. The noises were becoming more audible. Serena started shaking, fearing the guards would have found her. Bonnie looked at Serena. "Serena, what's happening?" Bonnie asked

"No idea... Let's stay hidden"

Then Serena saw what made her heart do a backflip. Standing in a white horse was none other than her father followed by four other guards.

"Let's keep going, she can not be that well hidden. When I find her, I will kill the Ketchum's son"

Serena could not hold the tears. She couldn't let Ash die. She wouldn't be able to live knowing that it was because of her that he would die. Her mind fills with possibilities of a future without Ash. Where she wouldn't see his beautiful brown eyes that always made her heart skip a beat, without his smile, his messy hair, his arms around her, without his tender and loving words and kisses. She realized she needed to do something. Ash had risked a lot of his life for her. But, if she went with her father, Ash would have no purpose in going to another region. Would he go back to his kingdom and marry Lillie? What should she do now?  If she went, Ash would be safe. However, she would lose him and he would end up with Lillie probably. But if she did not go with her father and he founded them, she would lose Ash forever. Serena looked around. Tears still falling from her blue eyes that sparkled in fear. Bonnie looked at Serena and said "Follow your heart. No matter what. I'm sure your dad would not find you and Ash right?" Serena nodded. She smiled at Bonnie and cleaned her tears. Ready to leave with Fennekin in her arms and grabbing Bonnie's hand, she was stopped by a horse standing right in front of her.

"My dear Serena. It is great to finally see you again" Standing in front of her was her father. Now, what should she do? "I must admit, I knew I would find you in a week. Who are you!?" He asked looking at Bonnie.

"I met her while I was in the woods, she injured her knee so I helped her," Serena said winking at Bonnie to play along.

"Where's that prince?"

"Ash? He is not with me..."

"Lies! Where is him?"

"Father, I have no idea."

"Serena Yvonne if you keep lying to me, I will hunt him down and kill him if it is needed"

"Father I'm not lying, I have no idea of where he is. I run away by myself. I was scared and sad. I felt trapped and that was the only thing that came to my mind. I know it was stupid and I'm sorry. But please spear Bonnie and Ash. It is not their fault I run away. Now let her go and I will go with you" Serena said tearing up. Although she wanted to show her father she was strong, she couldn't anymore. What seemed so perfect, ended easier than she ever thought. Her father nodded at her. She kneed in front of Bonnie, hugged her, and whispered "Go back to them. Tell them what happened. Tell Ash to not try and find me or he will be in danger. Tell him I love him. And I will do everything I can to come back to him" Bonnie cried and run away. Serena looked at her father.

"Come on child. Enough of this childish play." And so she left. In her father's horse while tears streamed down her face. She lost him. He would never forgive her. But she only wanted to protect him. She thought about what could she have done to change things. To not have this fateful destiny.

Bonnie ran as faster as she could. When she arrived she saw Ash and Clemont sitting in the grass talking to each other. They noticed Bonnie. They run to her. She sobbed even more. Of course, they asked where was Serena. Bonnie could barely talk as she was so scared and emotional. After some minutes, she was finally able to tell them what happened. Ash punched the ground as tears streamed down his face. Serena was gone! What seemed perfect became blurry. There wasn't a future now. Where would they go now? If he went back, he would have to get back to Lillie and get married. He would not leave for another region without Serena. So what would he do now?

Bonnie heard horses again. She jumped to Clemont's arms. Ash who was still crying turned around and saw his father with Lillie. 'No. This can not be happening! What the hell am I supposed to do now? I can't leave with them!'

"My boy! Finally! What came to your head to decide to run away?" His father said. Ash took a step behind. He wished he could run away from there. He looked at Clemont and Bonnie. The two shared teary faces as their adventure had officially come to an end. Unexpectedly, it started raining. Ash felt himself get shocked by the rain while thousands of tears run down his face. Was this the end? What could he do now? Runaway was impossible. He saw himself leaving with his father and Lillie. Going far and far away from his true love who was taken from him.
