"Right boys gather round," Jacques beckons all the squad over to me and him; they each immediately stop whatever they are doing and come and stand in front of us. "I have a new member to the team to introduce, the youngest member on the staff in fact at age twenty one. This is Olivia Adams and as of today she will be the assistant coach. Olivia, would you like to talk the boys through what they're doing today?"
Jacques puts a hand on my shoulder and my nerves pick up. "Sure," My voice sounds higher than usual as I am sure that I am bound to mess this up. "Right, so today the main focus is building up your defence skills. I want you to first, warm up and I'll tell you what drills you will be doing when you finish warming up." I let out a silent sigh and yet again my eyes meet the dark brown ones of Kylian Mbappe but this time I quickly break his gaze.
"Okay, laps around this pitch, come on let's go." Jacques claps his hands waking the lads up a bit and most of them groan and rolls their eyes. They eventually all begin jogging around the perimeters of the pitch.
Two hours pass and we still have another whole hour until lunch. My tummy is rumbling and I cross my arms across myself.
"Olivia." The sound of someone calling my name catches my attention causing me to turn around.
Mauricio Pochettino is standing by a bench with a tall, skinny man also known as my dad.
I excuse myself from Jacques before jogging over to them both. "Liv, you look amazing." Dad compliments me and hesitates before pulling me into what is a half-hearted hug.
"Thank you." I nod my head but no joy is evident within my face or voice. I am not too sure whether or not I am actually happy to see my dad.
"I'll leave you two to talk." Poch excuses himself and goes over to check on how the training is going.
"Why are you here, dad?" Bitterness spikes at my words as we both sit upon the bench behind us.
"To see my little girl."
This causes me to mentally roll my eyes. "Why? It's obvious that I am the least of your worries right now, don't you have a new little girl with your new wife?" I cross my arms over my chest and refuse to look at the man. My dad wasn't the only one who found someone new to love; he too now has his own daughter that is another half sibling that I have never met.
"It's Sam."
My ears prick up and numbness spreads across my face. "Is he alright? What's happened?" I worry. When things come to my little brother I get over protective and super paranoid.
"Yes everything is going to be fine, he doesn't want to live with your mother anymore. I got a delightful text from her last night explaining everything."
Relief rushes through me knowing that Sam is fine or is going to be in dad's words. "So, he wants to come and live with you?" I finally look up at him.
Dad shakes his head and a frown clouds my expression. "He has requested to come and live with you."
The numbness takes over my whole body this time and pure confusion smothers my face. "Me? Why?"
"Apparently his exact words were, he no longer wants to live with a man he refuses to talk to and he doesn't want to live with me because of my own wife and baby girl. Then he said that he wants to live with you as he feels like you are the only one who gives a crap about him and that way he won't have to deal with any little siblings."
A lump wedges itself in my throat as I take my time to fully process the situation I am now in. "When does he get here?" My voice is raspy as it tries to push past the lump that's pressing against my trachea.
