I can feel my heart beating out of my chest as the words leave Uncle Severus' lips. He continues to read out the rest of the names from the cauldron as he avoids making eye contact with me. I could feel the eyes of Parkinson burning in the back of my head. I bet she is just as furious as I am.

"Everyone find your partner and turn to page 241."

I slide the textbook off of the table and walk over to where Malfoy is sitting. We are the only two Slytherins that had been paired together. The rest of them had been placed at opposite sides of the room from each other. As I get to the bench, Parkinson is still sat next to Malfoy.

"I'm not moving. Why don' t you go and work with Granger, maybe you could steal her man too while you're at it." Parkinson says while pointing to Hermione and then glancing over to the ginger haired boy who thought I was Snape's daughter.

"Parkinson! Go and sit with Miss Granger now or you will be joining Ivy in detention." Uncle Severus shouts from the front of the room.

She lets out a sigh and stomps over to the other side of the room. Parkinson then slides all the equipment over to Hermione as she flicks through the textbook. I'm shocked she didn't put up a fight. Her jealousy is almost humorous to watch.

As I sit down next to him, the smell of his cologne fills my nostrils. I couldn't quite describe the smell of it but it was masculine and earthy. I glance over at him and he is flicking through the textbook. "Don't just sit there, at least help me make the damn thing." He says without taking his eyes out of the book. "Maybe we can take some of this and use it on your neck." I couldn't tell if he was being sarcastic or serious.

On the table there was a small cauldron and small jars surrounding it. Each of the small jars had been labels with numbers on them to represent each step they needed to be added in. The first jar was filled with a black liquid which fizzed and bubbled, this needed to be added alongside the second larger jar which was filled with leaves. The leaves were the colour of blood with white outlining the veins of the leaf.

"Looks like I'm not going to be lonely in detention then." Malfoy says while opening the third jar which was filled with a grey smoke.

"Lucky me." I reply sarcastically. I don't believe that he got detention too. It's only the first day, what could he have possibly done in the last 24 hours to land himself in there with me. "What you got detention for anyways?"

"Do you really want to know?" he says while leaning closer to me. He looks me straight in the eye while holding the jar of smoke away from our faces. "It involves your favourite person." The colour of his eyes almost turn grey as he half smiles at me.

Curiosity consumes me. "You have to tell me now if it involves my favourite person."

He starts to laugh slightly and then licks his lips."Let's just say it was a fun game gone wrong. You wouldn't understand." He then turns away from me and looks back into his book.

"No don't stop. This game you speak of, is it a dangerous game?"

As the question leaves my mouth he immediately looks back at me. "Oh you have no idea." He diverts his gase over to the other side of the room. I turn around to see who he was looking at. It was Parkinson smiling back at him.

"And how would you manage to play such a game on the train may I ask?" I smirk. I was so confused at this point what he was insinuating at, but I carry on questioning to see if he will break.

"Maybe if you wasn't so nosey I could play it with you sometime." He muffles under his breath.

I laugh and look him dead in the eye. "I wouldn't play with you even if you was the last wizard alive."

"I bet you've played it with a couple hundred filthy muggles." He raises his eyebrows as he waits for my response. Malfoy then leans into me "oh I bet they loved damaging you." He whispers into my ear.

I run my finger over his cheek which he doesn't resist. His stubble made his face feel rough and spiky to the touch. He then angles his face so he is almost looking up at me. "Do you want me to break your face, Malfoy?" I say while smiling sarcastically at him.

"Okay class, see you on Friday." Uncle Severus shouts to the class. Saved by the bell.

"See you in detention, princess." Malfoy says while standing up from his seat and walking away. It was official. I hated him. I have never hated someone as much as I hate him. He physically made me sick.
