We walk through the Manor through different rooms. The first was the size of a ball room with beautiful dark wood floors, the second was a long room with a table that reached to each side of the room. We get to a set of stairs and walk up them in complete silence.
We reach a room at the top of the stairs with double doors. She opens the doors and the room is huge. There is a king size bed at the far side of the room with my bag laying at the foot. There's a wardrobe at the other side of the room which looks bigger than the bathroom back home. The walls are bare stone with carvings of birds in trees and flowers.
I look over to the dresser and there's a large bottle of perfume and make up scattered across the top, like somebody has been here before me. I walk closer to it and I notice, it's the same perfume that my mother wears. The bottle is covered in dust but it was noticeable by the shape of the bottle, a tall green vile with silver stars covering the face.
"This was your mother's room, once upon a time. If you don't want to stay here we can put you somewhere else." Narcissa says standing in the middle of the room.
"My mother lived here?" I ask her. My mother was secretive of her past especially when it came to other wizards. The only other person she spoke about was my grandad but even then she didn't say much.
"She stayed here during the First War. Me and your mother were very good friends before..." She stops herself from saying too much. "All her old clothes are here." She says changing the subject and walking over to the large wardrobe. She opens the two doors and it's filled with shades of green, purple and grey. There's not one piece of light clothing in there.
I walk closer and pull out the green dress that is hidden at the back of the wardrobe. It's a beautiful ball gown with long sleeves covered in green glitter. The dress twinkles in the little light coming from the floor to ceiling windows. If it was white it could have been a wedding dress it's so beautiful.
"She wore that to the Hallows' Eve ball when she was your age. I'm surprised she never got rid of the old thing." She says as I dazzle at its sleeves. I can imagine my mother wearing this. Her hair all pinned up away from her face, dark makeup around her eyes, a deep plum lipstick, slow dancing with somebody that wasn't my father trying to make him jealous.
"It's beautiful." I reply. "Why did you keep all this stuff for so long?" I ask her curiously, somebody doesn't keep the possessions of there enemy.
"If I am to speak truthfully, I have always hoped she would come back." Her face falls in disappointment.
"If it wasn't for my father she probably would have." I say angrily realising how much damage my father has caused to this world.
"Maybe. But she had you. She had to protect you."
I hang the dress back up in the wardrobe and close it. "Things would be so different if we stayed." I sigh.
"If you had stayed, your father would be in Azkaban. You should be lucky that his still standing." She says sternly. "Besides, all the lies have made you stronger."
She was right. The unforgivable curse that my father used on Narcissa could have had him killed. The thought gives me shivers, him inflicting pain on her. The fear in her eyes as she talks about him. He really is evil.
"So, what did you want to discuss with me?" I ask changing the subject from my parents completely.
"Do you know what you are getting yourself into?" She asks as she walks over to the couch at the foot of the bed, sitting down.
"I do. This is the right thing for me to do."
"Is that passion or fear speaking to me."
"Either way I don't think I have a choice. He as chosen me. If it wasn't for Draco, fuck knows what would have happened to me." Shit. "I mean Merlin."
She laughs because she knows that I have no idea who Merlin is and why people say it. "He likes you. His never spoke to me about a girl before."
"Not even Pansy?"
"I didn't know who she was until he brought her to our Christmas ball last year." She rambles on. "She's a strange girl isn't she?" She asks me.
I laugh because that's probably the nicest word I could use to describe her. "Yeah, you could say that." I say rolling my eyes.
Her face brightens when she laughs, similar to Draco's. Her laugh is quite and elegant, how I imagine the Queen would laugh. She covers the bottom part of her face as she laughs so that I can't see her mouth.
I glance down at my watch and it's nearly six o'clock. The day is slowly getting dark through the windows and rain starts to pour from the skies.
"Well, I'll leave you to get settled. Dinner is at half seven." She says standing up from the chair and walking over to the door.
"I'll see you then. And Mrs Malfoy?." I say as she is about to walk out of the door. She stops and faces me. "Thank you for this."
"No need to thank me. And call me Narcissa, I hate Mrs Malfoy, makes me sound old." She says with a smile as she walks out of the room closing the doors behind her.
I walk over to the large bed and fall onto the mattress. It felt like home with the way it smelt like my mother. It's comforting and disconcerting at the same time. I turn my head and look at my bag. The room is nearly pitch black with the only light coming from the gap at the bottom of the door.
I pull my wand out of my bag and walk over to the abandoned fireplace adjacent to the dresser. "Incendio." I whisper holding my wand to the dusty wood. A bolt of fire flashes in the room and then settles in the wood. The orange glare of the fire heats the cold room. I have never done that spell before. I'm astonished and shocked that I didn't mess it up.
I walk over to the large window and stare out into the courtyard. A maze of rose bushes lead to a fountain in the centre of the greenery, but there's no water inside. It's as if it's never been touched by another. Though it's raining the water doesn't seem to be filling the bowl, it's just sliding off the rim and dripping onto the flags stone below.
A knock at the door brings me out of my daydream. I walk over to the door and open it. It's Draco leaning against the doorway, wearing a black suit and tie with a snake pin pressed into the centre of it, with emerald green stones as eyes staring straight at me.
"Hello beautiful." He says with a smirk before walking into the room pushing past me. "I see you've settled in nicely." He says looking around the room and noticing the fire a blaze.
"Do you mind, I'm supposed to be getting ready for dinner." I say to him with a stern face.
"It's not even six yet. It really doesn't take you that long to get ready does it?" He says sitting down at the foot of the bed.
"I don't know how it's going to take me to be ready, thus why I'm starting now, so if you don't mind." I say gesturing at the door for him to leave.
He stands and walks over to me looking me up and down. "You want to do something fun?" He says taking hold of my hands.
