(Y/n) walked in the snowy woods following the thin red line of blood dripping in the white ground, he was out tracking wolves for a farm. They had been causing the farmers trouble by killing their cattle and he was to be paid handsomely if he dealt with it.
He had been tracking the wolves for weeks, it was quite the large pack. Nine in total. It took him the entire week to dispatch them all but one.
(Y/n)'s armored boot crunched in the snow as he walked into an open clearing and there lay his prey. The black wolf squirmed and whined as it tried to get up scraping the snow blood all around it its stomach rising and falling in a rapid pace.
As (Y/n) approached it let out a feral growl, a warning. A desperate attempt to stay alive.
(Y/n) tilted his head at it's attitude, his helmet's scowling eyes unchanged as he let out a hum.
"I am sorry brave hunter, we all must survive in this world. Which means unfortunately, the strong must prey on the weak.." (Y/n) said as he knelt down in front of it, unsheathing his longsword from his back. (Y/n) threw his arm back and swiftly thrust it forward the wolf yelped then when still.
(Y/n) drew the tip of his longsword's blade from the wolf's throat and stood up and begun to wipe the blood off.
Suddenly, a piercing scream of terror erupted from the silent woods, making (Y/n) stand at alert scanning the surrounding trees.
A figure came sprinting from the woods stumbling and tripping as she made it into the clearing and ran up to him hugging him desperately.
"Please! Help me! Please-" The girl looked up at (Y/n)'s taller and broader frame to look at him only for her eyes to widen in terror as she backed up fearfully. (Y/n) to a cautious step forward confused then alarmed when she tripped on her feet and fell down and pleaded.
"Please don't kill me, Please!" The girl cried tears spilling from her eyes (Y/n) was about to speak when three more figures came from the treeline.
"There she is! Get her! lynch the harlet!" The armored men stated as they marched towards (Y/n) and the girl.
They then halted when the spotted (Y/n), standing there watching them paying the girl no mind.
"Mercenary! By the power given to my by the royal family of Reinfelt! I order you to kill that harlet!" The captain of the two of knights yelled and pointed at (Y/n).
(Y/n) looked down at the girl who looked up at him in terror and fear pleading with tear stained cheeks.
(Y/n) then looked back up at the trio of knights.
"For What crimes give her this sentence?" (Y/n) asked.
"She was to be given to the king as a concubine and she rejected her purpose!" The Captain growled out.
(Y/n) looked back down at the girl then took a step past her and stood between the knights and the girl and got into a defense position.
"If she does not wish to give herself to anyone then your king has not right to take her." (Y/n) growled.
The Captain looked at (Y/n) in disbelief then seethed with hate and rage.
"You will not forestall her fate! We shall kill you if you try to stop us!" The captain yelled as he unsheathed his sword as did the other two.
