this chapter made me so emotional. im not even kidding. this might be a long chapter or a short one. i dont know.

After an entire week of Autumn receiving plenty of roses and plenty of cards, she still felt slightly broken. But, little by little, she was healing. She still wasn't eating properly, but she did begin to eat a few grapes. Most times, she'll wonder, This is a good start, right? when she was about to eat grapes. She'd eat them, but just a few entered her mouth until she thought she'd get fatter.

Those weeks turned into months, and they still felt strong for one another. It's amazing, isn't it? How two people meet at an almost empty coffee shop, and grew the most incredible bond. But today wasn't a perfect day at all.

Here she was, sat in the hall of the hospital, worrying about Calum.

"Why. . ." she whispered as she placed her head in her hands, tears welding in her eye's. Finally, the doctor came out, but the look in his eye's were telling Autumn that Calum didn't make it. But she still asked, "Is he alright, doctor?"

"I'm sorry," he spoke, his voice gentle and soft. "but he didn't make it. You can go into his room for the time being." he said, the sadness filling his voice. Autumn felt it all over again, her entire world shattering as her heart ached.

She nodded and slowly entered his hospital room. The tears streamed down her face as she saw him lying there. "Calum." she sobbed, running to his side. "Calum." she sobbed again. This was all some sort of deja vu.

After a few more minutes, a new doctor came back in, smiling softly and weakly. "Are you his girlfriend?" the doctor asked her. Autumn sighed, shaking her head. "No. But it felt like..." Autumn began think back to the moment she first talked to him.

"It feels like we were in a relationship for years, even though we've only known each other for a few months." she smiled weakly.

The doctor nodded, smiling weakly,
"This might be a wrong time, but there's a boy named Ashton Irwin. He says he knows you?" she asked. Autumn's breathing paused for a split second, but she nodded anyway. "Is he here?" Autumn asked. The doctor nodded, "He's outside the room." she spoke.

A few more minutes passed, and the doctor left after talking to Autumn about what caused the accident and how no one needed to pay for the healthcare. Autumn exited the room, seeing Ashton sitting on the chair. She cleared her throat, causing him to look up. This was the first time seeing him cry since Joseph's death. Ashton then stood up, wiping his eye's.

"Autumn-" he began, but was interrupted by Autumn embracing him so suddenly. She cried into his chest. "He's gone, Ashton. He's gone." she spoke, her voice weak. Ashton began to cry again as well.

"He's gone, and he's never going to come back, Ashton. We lost him." she sobbed. When those words left her mouth, Ashton remembered her saying those exact same words when they hear the news about Joseph.

"Autumn, it's going to be alright."

"I'll never fall for that make-belief bullshit again."
