Another Chance

13: Party

The party had started. Everybody was having fun. Boruto had caught up with his friends. They were worried about him. They had scolded him that he shouldn't have been so reckless. Hehe. Though the party was doing good, Boruto didn't really wanted the party. He would've been fine with just a simple dinner. He didn't want the attention. He excused himself to the bathroom. Sarada noticed his uneasiness.

Boruto entered the bathroom and washed up. He took this time to reflect on what happened and his current state. He should have been happy, but he felt something wrong, like something bad was happening and he didn't know about it. After he went out, he bumped into Sarada, She had a feeling there was something bothering Boruto. "Is there something bothering you?" She asked. Boruto didn't want to worry Sarada so he lied about it. "You know, you can always talk about it with me." She said. Boruto was relieved that there was someone he can talk to and vent out his feelings. "Let's talk in my room" He said to her, grabbing her hand and leading her to his room.

They entered his room, sitting on his bed. "So are you going to tell me something?" Sarada asked, "Kind of" Boruto said, "What's up?" she asked,
B: I feel weird
S: Weird? How?
B: Like something is wrong, I don't know if it's in my head or not
S: Why?
B: I also don't know.

A moment of silence was shared between the two. It was a weird conversation. Sarada broke the silence again
S: Thank you for saving me, I just now realized that I haven't actually thanked you for that
B: It's no problem
S: It is a problem! You almost died because of me
B: It's not your fault
S: But it is!
B: You couldn't have known, and it's better than you being the one stabbed. I made a promise to protect you, right?
S: But that promise is stupid! I don't want you to harm yourself doing that
B: That's part of being a shinobi, you have to sacrifice for the people you love

Another moment of silence was shared between them. They sat their in silence, no one dared to speak. Sarada felt something in her heart. Something about Boruto telling her that she is special to him made her heart flutter. She tried to steal a glance of him, but was met with blue eyes. They just stared at each other, no sounds was heard, it was just the sounds of their hearts to them. The two started getting closer, and closer, until there was only a few inches between their faces. They are too close that they can feel each other's breath. They weren't thinking about anything. They were almost there...

*RING RING*

Sarada's phone rings and they woke up from their trance. They were both startled. They both blushed and  Sarada stood up and answered her phone. It was her mother, "Where are you? We'll go home now" Her mom asked over the phone, "Okay, I'll be there, wait up" she said.

"Ummm... I better get going" Sarada said to Boruto, "Oh, okay" he said, he stood up and walked Sarada outside his house, "Umm, see you tomorrow, maybe?" Boruto said, embarrassed "Okay" Sarada replied, with the same emotion. He closed the door and he sighed, all his nervousness and embarrassment towards her was let down. He probably hated himself because of what they did, or almost did. He was so embarrassed. The amount of embarrassment he felt can never be measured. That's for sure, but it wasn't just him who felt it, of course, the onyx girl felt it too, and what's worse was that her parents was just in front of her.
