Chapter 12- Lost It

Carl's POV
"Stop!" Kinley yelled as she tried to run to her brother.
I pulled her back and she cried.
My heart broke into a million pieces.
I hugged her and she cried into my chest.

"Let him go!" My dad yelled as everyone had there guns out
"He doesn't deserve to live!" The man yelled.
Kinley cried even harder.
"He's all she has left." I said calmly
He stared at me.
I stared back at him.

The man shook his head really fast.
Everybody was watching his every move.
The man put down the gun and shoved Matthew. Matthew came running to Kinley and they hugged.
Kinley got out of there hug and looked at the man.

"Thank you." Kinley said smiling at the man.
He pulled out his gun and shot it.
My ears were ringing.
I heard gunshots, tons.
I looked up and saw the man on the ground and Kinley.
"KINLEY!" I screamed running to her.
She had blood on her leg.

"Bring her in & Fast!" A man said that was a doctor.
I picked her up bridal style and put her on a table inside.
"She got shot in the leg. It's good that it went beside her and the bullet isn't in her leg." The doctor said.
I held Kinley's hand and kissed it.

"I need rubbing alcohol, wraps, thread, and a needle!" The doctor said.
Someone handed him the stuff.
"We have to do this fast so she won't wake up." The doctor said.
I nodded.
He took the alcohol and poured it on the wound. Then he took the needle and thread and stitched her up. He wrapped it and he was done.

"Thank you." I said smiling.
He nodded.
"How long will it be until she wakes up?" I asked.
"It could be 3 days, any second, or even 3 weeks." The doctor said.
3 weeks?!?
I nodded and he walked away.

"Kinley come on you have to wake up. I just got you back." I said crying to Kinley.
Her eyes were closed and she was breathing normally.
"Please." I said and broke down into tears.
I was the only one in there with her. Everyone else was going on with there business.

I grabbed a chair and put it beside the table. I grabbed a pillow and blanket too. I put the blanket over her and put the pillow gently under her head. I held her hand and sat in the chair.

Kinley's POV

*dream*

I couldn't find Carl anywhere.
"Carl?!?" I screamed.
I was in a big building.
I heard moans. I turned around to see walkers. I shot them and kept looking. His hat was lying on the ground. I picked it up and kept walking into another room.

I saw a body on the floor. I ran to the body and pushed it over so I could see who it was. Carl.

"Carl?!" I screamed and cried.
He opened his eyes.
"Kinley." He said smiling.
"What happened?" I asked kissing his head.
He took off his shirt and I saw a huge bite mark on his shoulder.

I shook my head and cried.
"No. No. No. No." I cried.
Carl started crying too.
"I love you so freakin much." Carl said crying and smiling.
"I just got you back. You can't leave me." I said crying.

He let another tear fall.
"I love you so much Carl." I said crying.
He pulled me down slowly and kissed me. I didn't care if I would turn too.
I kissed back. He pulled away.
"I'm sorry Kinley. I love you. When I'm gone you gotta put me down." Carl said crying.
"I love you too." I said nodding.

"I'll see you on the other side my princess. I love you." Carl said breathing slower.
"I love you Sheriff Boy." I said crying.
I kissed him on the lips and he kissed back.
He pulled away and looked at me.
I looked at his pretty blue eyes one last time.

He mouthed 'I love you' and then he closed his eyes and stopped breathing.
"Carl? CARL? CARL!" I screamed crying.
'You gotta put me down when I'm gone.' His voice repeated in my head.

This is what Carl wanted.
I pulled out my gun and kissed Carl's head.
"I love you Sheriff Boy." I said letting tears fall.
I pointed my gun at Carl and closed my eyes.
I pulled the trigger.

*end of dream*

I shot up and felt pain in my leg.
"Kinley!" Carl yelled.
He got up and hugged me. I hugged back and cried into his shoulder.
He pulled back and kissed me. I kissed back and pulled away.

"I lost you Carl." I said crying.
"No you didn't I'm right here." Carl said kissing my forehead.
"You got bit and I had to put you down." I said crying.
"It was just a nightmare." Carl said kissing my forehead again.

I nodded and hugged Carl.
Carl hugged back.
"Do you wanna go upstairs?" Carl asked pulling away.
I nodded.
Carl turned around and I got on his back.
He took me upstairs into our room.

He put me down on the bed gently.
I laid down and Carl laid beside me. He pulled me close and I snuggled my head in his chest.
"I love you so much Sheriff Boy." I said closing my eyes.
I felt a kiss on my head.
"I love you so much too Princess." Carl said.

I smiled and fell asleep.
