Melody's POV

When our dad was in the hospital, which was a lot, Tara would bring her guitar and she and I would go room to room and sing to the cancer patients...whatever they prefered, we'd sing! Tara started learning how to play guitar when she was five, and she was a fast learner...like me! Now, she takes that guitar everywhere, in case she gets the chance to perform. Anyway, as we were waiting for Liz to get out of surgery, she came over and sat beside me...as you could probably imagine, I was a wreck. Tara has always had this way of knowing when people were upset or sad, and she could tell that I was both sad and freaking out! "Wanna go up to the cancer unit, I brought my guitar...as always! It'll help get your mind off of everything!" she said, smiling. "Yeah, I would love that!" I said. Mom and the twins were asleep...and we weren't gonna bug them, so we just grabbed what we needed and headed upstairs. When we got up to the cancer unit...Hope, the young nurse who took care of our father, hugged us. "It's so good to see you girls, why are you here?" she asked, curious. "My best friend got shot in the leg by her dad, and she's in surgery now...so Tara thought it would take my mind off everything if we came and sang for the kids and teens up here!" I said, trying my best not to cry. "Aw, honey, i'm sorry...were you with her when it happened?" Hope said. "Yeah...it hurt my heart so bad to see her in that much pain!" I said, tears forming in my eyes. She hugged me and stopped talking about it! "So, how do you wanna do this? Do you want me to get however many out here or what?" She asked. "Yes that would be nice!" I said. "Okay, well you girls can set up, and we'll be out there shortly!" she said, excited. So we went and set up, did vocal warmups, Tara tested her guitar, and I got our song writing book out...yes we write our own songs and we like to perform covers, but sometimes we like to perform one or two of ours, just to give people a taste of our music! When everybody got out to the lounge, we asked if there was a birthday girl in our audience...and this teen raised her hand, so we asked her what her name was and she said Liv...short for Olivia. She was turning 16, so we had the perfect song for her. "Alright, this sonng goes out to Liv...happy sweet sixteen sweet girl!" I said. Tara started playing the cords wrote down in our book, and I counted myself off, and we started singing.

Natalie's POV

"Natalie wake up, the surgery is over!" I heard Kate say. "I'm up, I'm up! Is she okay?" I asked, worried. "She's stable, the bullet didnt break her femur, so that's good...but she has lost a significant amount of blood, so maybe you or Melody could donate some if you're matches for her...where are Melody and Tara by chance?" she asked. "They're upstairs in the cancer center singing to the paitents, they've done that for years...every time Mike would have to come here for anything, they'd go up there!" I said. "Well you might wanna go get Melody and tell her!" she said, winking. "Okay, I will...but I'm not telling her about that other thing!" I said. Kate rolled her eyes and looked at me like "out of anyone, Melody deserves to know the truth...and you know it!" That's the truth, but I just can't! I started walking to go upstairs, and the girls were coming down. "Oh, hey mom...what's up, is Liz okay?" Melody says, freaking out. "Yes sweetheart she's fine, what're you and Tara doing back so soon?" I asked. "Mom, it's eight thirty, we went up there at six thirty...you were asleep, remember?" she said, laughing a little. "Oh yeah, sorry...brain fart!" I said...they all laughed! "Melody, I can take you back to see her if you want?" Kate said, sincerely. "I'd love that Aunt Kate, thank you!" Melody said. "Absolutely honey!" Kate said. Kate took her back and looked back at me, and mouthed "you need to tell her, and soon!!"
