Chapter 6: Aftermath

Melody's POV
I was jumping with joy on the inside. When Aunt Kate told me mom said yes to Tara and I giving our blood to Liz, I was overwhelmed. I was also surprised that mom would even let me, because I was only 16 the hospital itself would not let me give blood without a parents consent. Then again because of everything she put me through, it would kind of make since that she'd let me. Now I'm just waiting for her to awaken.
"If I could wish for one thing, I'd take the smile that you bring...wherever you go in this world I'll come along! Together we dream the same dream, forever I'm here for you you're here for me woah woah oh, two voices one song!" I sang softly, sitting beside Liz in her hospital room! "That was beautiful Melody, even if she's asleep I know she heard you!" Aunt Kate said, walking in and sitting beside me. "Thanks! You know, it's really hard not to go in there and kill her for doing this!" I said, tears forming in my eyes. "I know, I know...I tried telling her, but I kinda knew that this was the way you were going to find out! She's my sister, I got to live with her doing this to me for years...but I forgave her, it took forever, but I did!" She explained. "I didn't think she'd keep doing it. I figured me not talking to her for five years did the trick, I guess not! I'm sorry!" She continued. "It's okay...I'm not going to forgive her, but that's her fault...not mine!" I said. "Could you send Tara in here, I'd like to talk to her for a second!" I continued. "Sure, just promise there won't be a killing!" She said laughing. "I promise!" I said laughing. She went out to the waiting area and got Tara! My mom might be mad as I don't know what at her, but I'm not! She did the right thing!

Kate's POV

"Tara, honey...Melody wants to talk to you, she isn't mad!" I said! "How do you know?" She said from the bathroom. "She isn't like your mother, she doesn't lie to people! Speaking of, where is your mother?" I said, curious! "She went home to pack clothes and stuff, "Melody's mad at her, isn't she?" She asked. "Yeah, she is...I don't think they'll be talking for a while sweetie!" I said. "Really, I didn't notice!" She said, sarcastically! Both of us laughed. "Okay, I'm coming...here goes nothin!" she said. I led her back to Melody and Liz!

Melody's POV
"Hey." I heard Tara say. "Hey, it's okay...I'm not mad, not at you at least!" I said. "Thanks! Has she woken up yet?" she asked. "No, I sang to her earlier though...Kate said she heard me but I don't know!" I said. About that time...she woke up and squeezed my hand! "And anywhere you are, you know I'll be around!" she sang, continuing the song. "And when you call my name, I'll listen for the sound!" I joined her, about to cry. "You actually heard me singing to you?" I asked. "Yeah, I had a weird dream about that song...don't ask!" she said laughing. "Girls, your mom's back with your things! Oh Melody I need you to help me with something" Kate said, popping her head into the room. "Okay, I'm coming in like two seconds! Hey Tara, do you mind getting my stuff and bringing it in here...I kinda think you know why I'm asking you to!" I said with a wink. "Sure, no problem!" she said. "Thank you!" I said. She nodded her head. "Hey, I've gotta go help my aunt do something, I'll be right back! Do you mind telling Tara to come find me when she gets back here?" I asked. "Okay! No I don't mind...you know that!" she said. "Thanks!" I said. I got up and ran over to the lab..."Thanks for not saying anything about this aunt Kate! I'm gonna tell her, I just wanna wait for the right moment!" I said, out of breath. "So what will they have to do to give her this blood?" I asked, continuing. "Well, they'll put her to sleep and put the needle into her arm. A nurse will stand in there with her so she can make sure there'll be no complications with the machine or anything! She's gonna be fine, and you don't get to worry about her!" she said, putting the needle into my arm. When she said that, I got super queasy...I really HATE needles, so I just kinda turned my head! "Okay dude you have got to tell her, I really wanna see her reaction, and she needs it...she needs something to go right for once!" Tara said, out of breath from running. Thankfully Liz reminded her that she needed to find me when she got done, I could tell that she had forgotten...it's a sister thing, don't ask! "I'll tell her, I'm just waiting for the right time to!" I said feeling pressured. "Okay, okay! I'm sorry!" she said. We talked for the remainder of the time that it took to draw our blood, then we had to eat a cookie and drink orange juice! When we got done with that, we headed back to Liz's room! She was so weak, and seeing her like that made me glad I donated for her, Tara too! We went back to the waiting area, and the twins ran up to us and hugged us. "So what're they going to do?" my mom asked. "They're going to do the transfusion, and once she wakes up...they'll start working on getting her up and walking again!" I said, trying my best to smile at her! I don't think I'll get over this anytime soon! This has been one heck of an aftermath, and now...I have to tell her, soon!
