He woke up with an excruciating headache and he didn't remember what he did the night before besides going to the bar to drown in his sorrows. When he's with Camila, he's happy and it's only been a day. He can speak to her and she listens. He knows more about Camila in a span of two days than he does about his own girlfriend. He didn't know where he was but what he did know was that the comfortable sheets he was laying in smelt just like Camila. The bedroom seemed like her too. Organized and put together. Although he was drunk as he slept, this was the most comfortable he's ever been in his life while sleeping. It sounded strange, but he can barely sleep when Sheridan's next to him. He always feels uncomfortable. He can't wrap his arms around her while he sleeps and he can't whisper how much he loves her because that's not how he feels. Pretending was getting harder and harder.

Shawn stood to his feet and looked around the bedroom. Her desk was well organized with study notes and everything else was simplistic yet beautiful. He wasn't completely sure at first but the family photo she had on her desk confirmed that it was in fact her bedroom and he could only wonder where Camila was.

Slowly and quietly he walked out of the bedroom where he was met with Camila snuggled up on the couch and it warmed his heart but he didn't like how she took the couch when he could've easily taken it for her

Slowly and quietly he walked out of the bedroom where he was met with Camila snuggled up on the couch and it warmed his heart but he didn't like how she took the couch when he could've easily taken it for her. If it were Sheridan, she'd never even think about him before herself and for all he knows, she would've put him on the ground. Camila was selfless and Shawn's never been with anyone who was selfless. He hasn't been with anyone but Sheridan so did he know if he could find better? Not at first but looking at Camila sleep peacefully now, he sure as hell already did find someone worth so much more but the odds of her getting with someone like him? Zero to none. He would've wakened her up to go into her room or even bring her himself but she looked tranquil and he wouldn't want to touch her without consent, even if it was just to bring her to the bedroom.

His throat went dry and he found the kitchen for some water

"Thirsty?" A sudden voice asked

"Thirsty?" A sudden voice asked. Shawn was startled for a second before turning to her. She looked so divine, even in sweats and an old t-shirt. He chuckled softly, "yeah... sorry." She shook her head, reminding him not to be sorry before asking if he wanted tea. "Willow bark tea sounds gross." He crossed his arms before pinching the bridge of his nose as his hangover was beginning to kick in. She grinned, "it helps with headaches, trust me... my mom taught me that." He couldn't object. She brought the tea over to the couch as they both sat in complete silence. It was cozy and it was a comfortable silence, unlike the silence that could be heard in his home. He missed the way his home used to look before things all went to shit. "I love your apartment." He complimented and she thanked him, "sorry, I don't know where you live so I just took you here." She shrugged, "thank you but you didn't have to give up your bed for me."

"You looked uncomfortable... why were you drunk in a bar alone anyway?"

He sighed, taking a deep breath. "Just to get my mind off things."

"There's other ways to do that." She said simply before taking another sip of her tea. "I know. I just... didn't want to be home with... her." He shivered at the thought of Sheridan and he didn't even want to begin to look at his phone after Camila had notified him that it was blowing up. "I miss my apartment." He mumbled under his breath, leaning back onto the couch. "Don't you live there?"

"Yeah, but Sheridan practically lives there too. We're always fighting... it's so bad that we break things, the apartment is dirty, and we yell... a lot." He said. Camila gulped, "you're a yeller?" She asked softly, running little patterns down his arm. He turned to her with soft eyes, "never thought I would be. I grew up with parents that civilly fought which is probably why they are still with each other. Sheridan and I... we don't apologize, we don't say I love you, and we sure as hell don't listen to each other because we can't stand one another."

Camila shook her head, understanding what he was pouring out to her. She thought twice before bringing up the kiss. He didn't mean it so there was no reason to bring it up. "My dad was a yeller." She whispered, and this caught Shawn's attention. "My parents fought a lot growing up... they were never in love. My mom didn't want kids... but it happened and my dad loved children, my mom however, did not." She sighed. Shawn felt terrible. He didn't know much about her family life but from the photo he saw, he only assumed that things were going well but he was surely wrong. "My dad yelled a lot but that was only when my mom did and she did all the time... she used to say that once my sister and I were old enough to get a good job, she'd cut us off and I'm cut off... my sister is only sixteen so she's not cut off yet." A tear rolled down her cheek and Shawn was immediate to comfort her. Seeing her cry, made him want to break down too. How could anyone just cut someone off like that? "M-my dad died a few years ago... heart attack."

"Oh, God, Camila." Shawn said, hugging her closer towards him, "I'm so sorry." He whispered into her ear before pressing a kiss to it, "I'm so, so sorry." He knew that there was nothing he could say that could make every bad thing disappear. He wasn't God but what he does do is what he saw his father do when his sister or when his mother was upset which was hug them and comfort them with touch. Shawn and Sheridan never did that. They never comforted one another because how awkward would it be to comfort the other when the reason they're upset in the first place is because of you?

She lifted her head from his shoulder and wiped her tears away, smiling, "it's okay... I'm okay. Anyways, did the tea help?" She asked, taking the empty cups. He nodded, thanking her.

Shawn began to put his shoes on and when she returned from the kitchen her eyes widened, "what are you doing?" Shawn shrugged and grinned, "I don't want to take your bed much longer... I'm sorry about texting you while drunk... I know you were with friends." She waved him off, "anytime." As he walked out of the apartment, she was unsure of how he'd get home but he didn't live too far away apparently and he didn't like using his car too often when things were close and he reassured her that he'd be okay walking home even when home to him, wasn't necessarily home anymore as he was dreading the possibilities of seeing Sheridan. "Wait, Shawn." She called for him as he was halfway down the hall, he turned on his heel and made his way back over to her.

"Is Sheridan home tomorrow?" She didn't mean for it to come out as wrong as it did. "I mean... I don't mind coming over and help tidy things up. I have no plans." She offered, unsure if that was too much. His smile grew as he bent down to kiss her cheek, "you don't have to do that."

"I mean, okay... guess I won't see you tomorrow." She shrugged jokingly and his eyes widened. "Jesus, she's not home tomorrow and please come over." At that, she grinned and kissed his cheek goodbye before walking back into her apartment. She was so happy to hang out with him and talking to him about things were just so easy and she was grateful that she built up the courage to talk to him about something so personal to her. She thought they'd be great friends, despite the slight urge to want more.
