Camila was shaking. Her mind was constantly searching for reasons to believe that her mother was alright and that she'd be relieved to see her daughter come back for her. As she brought herself closer and closer to her hospital bed, her breathing became more rapid and shallow. Her pulse was pounding in her temples. She didn't know what her mom would do or even say. She felt Shawn's hand clasp with hers and as she turned to him, the smile on his face made her nerves calm down as she returned the smile back. They stopped in front of the hospital room that read the number 205.

Tears began to already form on the brim of Camila's eyes and it broke Shawn's heart. He moved closer towards her, cupping her cheeks in his warm hands. "Hey," he soothingly said, "it'll be okay. Whatever happens, I'm here. Always." He said reassuringly. She nodded knowingly. It put her mind at ease to know that he'd be there for her in case all hell broke loose because she didn't know if she could handle another heartbreak from her mother. It would be too much for her heavy heart to take. She could only hope for the best and pray that she'd be okay with her near. "What if she doesn't want me here?"

Shawn shook his head. "Then we'll leave. We'll leave and we'll enjoy the rest of our time here in Toronto." He smiled at her. Satisfied, she nodded, preparing herself to face the demon she's been avoiding for so long—not that she had the choice to anyway. She walked in slowly and there her mother laid holding the hand of her sister she hasn't seen in quite some time now. It's been a few years. Long enough where Camila had completely forgotten that her sister was growing up and was no longer a little tween anymore. Her heart completely sunk when their eyes landed on her. She felt so out of place here and all she wanted to do was run away and pretend that this never happened but she couldn't. She remembered the heart wrenching sobs she heard through the phone from her sister and she knew that she couldn't just leave. Not before making sure she was okay. That they were okay.

Sofia stood up first, a sigh of relief escaping her lips as she brought Camila into a tight hug. It took Camila by surprise but she reciprocated. It felt nice to be in the arms of family again. "Oh, Camz, I'm glad you made it. I was starting to think you wouldn't come for mama." She explained into the crook of Camila's neck. "Of course I came." She said softly before pulling away and sitting down cautiously next to her mother who's eyes never left her. She looked drained. Her skin was paler than usual and her eyes looked so dead.

"Karla." She said, propping herself up onto her hospital bed. Camila didn't want to appear weak to her mother. She couldn't. The things her mother would say if she got the wrong idea that Camila wasn't well off without her. "Mama." Camila muttered under her breath. She knew that Sofia could also sense the tension that could be cut with a knife. Sofia knew all about what had happened and she was aware that in just a few years, the exact same thing will happen to her. It broke her heart to see her sister go, especially when she'd also lost her father. Everything wasn't the same without her father and older sister there. "I'm surprised you came to see me."

"I'm surprised you haven't kicked me out yet."

Sinu (Camila's mother) chuckled weakly, "can't exactly do that now, can I? Not when I'm in a hospital bed... praying to go home. I just need you to sign something for me... so that I can go home-"

"What?" Camila said with shock written on her face. "You can't go home. Mama, you need help. You tried killing yourself... you're in no condition to go home." Sofia gulped as Sinu knitted her eyebrows together, yanking Camila's arm closer to her. "Listen, I am your mother and I demand you to let me out of here."

"My mother? You kicked me out. Hell, you wanted me gone forever. And the only reason you want me here is because you want something from me. I can't let you go in case you try to harm yourself again." Camila sternly said, yanking her arm back.
