"Daryl, Cole, cover the back."
Daryl and Colette rushed everyone in the building while covering everyones back. Once everyone made it inside, Daryl closed the doors tightly. Cole turned to look around the building anxiously. Rick stepped farther into the building before calling out.
"Hello?" Rick called out.
Gun cocks.
Everyone raised there weapons towards the sound. Colette clenched her handgun tightly in her hands when she noticed the man lurking in the shadows around the corner.
"Anybody infected?" The man called out all while pointing his gun at the group.
Rick spoke up for the group. "One of our group was. He didn't make it."
"Why are you here? What do you want?"
"A chance."
Daryl and Colette looked at each other from the corner of their eyes. They both had a bad feeling about the guy. Why did he let them in and why is it only him.
"That's asking an awful lot these days."
"I know." Rick sighed in exhaustion.
The man stepped closer into the light and took the time to observe every single one of them. Daryl noticed what he was doing and stood protectively in front of Colette out of instinct, not wanted the mans eyes to linger on the woman behind him. "You all submit to a blood test. That's the price of admission."
The group nodded in agreement. "We can do that."
The man lowered his gun which made everyone instantly relax. "You got stuff to bring in, you do it now. Once this door closes, it stays closed."
Daryl tossed Colette his crossbow which she held tightly in her hands when he went to get their things from the truck. The men ran out to retrieve the groups necessities from the vehicles. Once running back into the building, T-Dog and Dale quickly closed the doors behind them. The man quickly locked down the entrance through a keypad. "VI, seal the main entrance. Kill the power up here." Without a second to waste, the shutters went down once more. Rick stepped forward to introduce himself to the man.
"Rick Grimes."
"Dr. Edwin Jenner."
Jenner then proceeded to lead the group to a elevator. Colette grabbed a hold of her bag from Daryl before handing him his bow. Daryl stood next to her as the group all crammed into the elevator. To break the silence, Daryl couldn't help but keep his eyes on the doctor. "Doctors always go around packing heat like that?"
