Veronica's POV
We were sitting in the common room listening to music. Milly and Axel were sitting on the other couch talking about their Christmas plan. Draco and I were sitting on the other couch facing them while Draco was painting my toenails.
"What about you guys? What is your plan for Christmas? Spending it together?"
"Well-"
"She's joining me and my family at our Christmas party." Draco said cutting me off. I stared at him with confusion. This was the first time I've heard about this. Milly and Axel left to get some food, leaving us behind.
"Christmas party? Draco I thought I can't stay with you."
"Ronnie, you're a death eater now. It's our annual Malfoy party. So you technically have no choice." He was trying to be stern, but couldn't hold back his smile. He kissed my forehead as I continued to stare at him with confusion. He gave me a smile and turned towards Blaise who was sitting in an armchair in front of the fire and began to talk.
It was the morning of the Malfoy's Christmas party. I haven't seen Draco in about a week. He asked if I could disapparate to the manor. I've never apparated by myself before, so I was a little nervous. Aunt Rose helped me with my hair. She pinned it up in a low, loose curly bun. I put the red dress on that Draco sent to me and did one last look in the mirror before I left. I haven't received a letter from Sage since the first one, but I know she is safe. I have been getting small things like a flower from an owl, so I know she is still out there.
"You look beautiful, Rons." Uncle Mike said.
"Really?"
"Of course! You look just like your mother. I just have a problem with how high that slit is..."
"Oh, Uncle Mike." I rolled my eyes and hugged him. He has done a good job filling my father's shoes. I hugged my aunt and uncle goodbye and walked outside. I closed my eyes and thought of the manor and apparated.
I appeared at the front door. I could hear Christmas music play in the background. It was snowing and the manor had lights around the front. The hedges that lined the entrance had lights and snow on it. Two gorgeous white peacocks roamed around outside the entrance. For a house that is not your typical family house, it had a lot of spirit to it. Must be his mother. I went to go knock at the door when it opened itself. It was Lucius.
"Why hello, Veronica." I wanted to walk right past him. I want to call him a lot of names, but this is the love of my life's father and I had no choice but to be polite.
"Sir." I said forcing a polite, soft smile. His mother saw me and smiled.
"Wow, Veronica. You look beautiful. Draco is still upstairs. Please, come in." I walked in and a house-elf took my coat. I looked around the place admiring all the Christmas lights and decorations. The manor was nice and warm and everyone was standing around with a glass in their hands, talking. Before I could explore more, someone caught my eyes on the top of the stairs. Draco walks down with his eyes locked onto mine. He was in an all-black suit. He walks slowly over to me.
"Ronnie, you look gorgeous." he says kissing my cheek. I smiled back at him as his mother clears her throat.
"Draco, why don't you get Miss. Silverling a drink."
"Yes, mother." He grabs my arm and leads me to their massive dining room filled with food and drinks. He grabbed a glass of champagne for me and a glass of fireball whiskey for him. Someone called him over and he looked at me.
