Pulling up to the very university you'd be attending, he let out a slight sigh as you were trying to prepare yourself for your new start.

You grabbed a piece of paper from your school package, reading what room you were settling in.

A slight tickle came to your throat as you were about to leave your car.
You embraced for it, as it happened frequently.
It was a constant reminder, just how bad your lungs really were.

Once you were done with the coughing fit, you grabbed your backpack and a suit case, deciding that you would tackle the small things first.

Walking up to the front doors, your breathe was taken away.
This school was huge and you were only on the resistance building..

Your anxiety grew stronger as you started towards your dorm.

There were a few students, dressed in light blue tee shirts, helping the freshman with any questions.

You walked up to the nearest woman.
She was a clip board in her hand as she smiled to you.

"Welcome to Tokyo University!"

"Hello, what way is room 200?"

She pointed to your right. "Go up the stairs to floor two, or take the elevator and yours should be the first on the right."

You nodded to her. "Thank you."

She smiled. "Have a great day!"

"You too." You said as you started towards the elevator.

You avoided stairs as much as possible as your lungs didn't agree with them very much, and you didn't feel like having another coughing fit.

Once you arrived in your room, you opened the door with your student card that was also provided in your university starter package.

You opened the door to see that you were the first to move in.

There were two beds on each wall.
There were two desks and two small dressers.

You set down your bag and suit case on the right side of the room. Claiming that bed right away as it had a window above the bed with the view of Tokyo.

You took a deep breath as you exited the room for the rest of your things.

Opening the door and walking around the corner to the elevator you collided heads with someone.

You held your forehead with pain.

"I'm so sorry! That's what I get for texting and trying to walk at the same time!" The voice said.

You opened your eyes to see a boy with grey and black hair.

You let your hand fall down to your side.
"Its okay! Don't worry about it okay?"

He looked up to you and you locked your e/c eyes with his golden ones.

"Ah pretty girl..I'm so sorry."

Your cheeks flushed a bit at his sentence.

"Um.."

"Sorry! I'm Bokuto Koutarou, by the way.." He scratched the side of his slightly pink cheek.

"Hi, I'm Y/n l/n."

"Are you a freshman l/n?"

You nodded your head. "Yeah I am, and please call me y/n."

His cheeks because more flushed. "A pretty girl wants me to call her by her first name!" He mumbled to himself but you heard every word.

"Well anyways, I'm gonna go get the rest of my stuff, see ya Bokuto." You went to walk around him but he turned and started to walk next to you.

"Need some help?"

"Its okay, it's just a couple boxes, I can handle it."
In honesty you couldn't, you'd easily have to do another trip after this one since your muscles were like they used to be.
You always took it easy, afraid that you'd over work your lungs.

"I don't mind! I don't have anything to do anyways! I was just going to see my friend but he can wait." He smiled to you.

You instantly melted to his smile. The way he spoke, his smile and the gleam in his eyes.
It was...comforting...

You gave him a weak smile."Alright, okay."

His mood shot up as he started to hum a tune that you didn't recognize, as you waited for the elevator.

Entering, he started a new conversation.
"So what highschool did you go to?"

"I went to Karasuno Prefecture.. You?"

"I went to Fukurodani Academy!! I was the ace of the boy's volleyball team!" He pointed his thumb to his chest, smiling like a child.

"You're a volleyball player?" She said amused.

"Yep! My dream is to be on Japan's national team!" He gleamed.

You found his enthusiasm amusing, he was the complete opposite of your brother Yakeru.

"Well I hope one day your dream comes true Bokuto." You smiled to him.

He smiled back as his hair stood up higher on his head.
You noticed and furrowed your eyebrows, as you didn't really think that could be a thing...

Getting to your car you opened the door and handed Bokuto the heaviest box, using his help to full advantage.

He lifted the box like it was nothing and started to walk towards the door. He waited for you to catch up.

You did your best to keep up with him, as he walked faster than you, and you liked to take your time.

"So what's your dream y/n?"  He asked pushing the button on the elevator.

You took a moment to think. "I don't really have a dream at the moment..."

"Awe why not?"

"Haven't really thought about it I guess..." You shrugged.

That was the truth, you didn't have a dream because you simply didn't want to set a goal that you weren't able to reach.
The doctors constantly said that as your COPD worsened, it would eventually take your life.
You make it your one rule.
To never set goals as you didn't want to dream of a long life you possibly wouldn't get.

You noted the silence between you and Bokuto..you spoke up to break the tension.
"I'm kinda a 'live life as it comes..' 'Take one day as it comes' kind of person."

Bokuto smiled to you. "You're very nice y/n."

"Thank you Bokuto."

You both finally stepped out of the elevator and you opened your room. Bokuto noted where the rest of your things were and set the boxes on the right side of the room.

"So are you a first year Bo?"

He was taken aback at his sudden shortened name.
"No I'm actually a second year, my friend is a first year though! Oh yeah speaking of which! I better go before he gets angry!" He rushed to your door.

He turned his head to you.
"It was really nice meeting you y/n, I hope to see you again!"

You smiled. "Have a good day Bokuto."

He then left after that.

Friend..it was a bad idea in your mind. You avoided friendships in highschool for the simple reason of not wanting them to be attached to you when you do pass away... But Bokuto.. You felt comfort around him..you hated the idea of making him a friend.. But you see.. You already missed his energetic, smiling self.
