Everything's Changed. (Akaashi X Reader)

Throughout your first class, you had many people stare at you. It made you uncomfortable but you knew that they didn't know why you had this thing... You would probably stare at someone like this if you were in their shoes... But you wished it'd stop.

Kumi said nothing to you all class, but you noticed her giving you side glances every so often. It was starting to irritate you.

Once class was over, you asked Kumi to stay for a moment.
She accepted but she didn't look happy about it.

"What?" She said crossing her arms.

"I just wanted to let you know that Akaashi and I aren't dating...we're just friends, I wouldn't even be hanging with him if it wasn't for Bokuto.."

She rolled her eyes. "Well I didn't see Bokuto helping you this morning.. I get it. You're not together, but doesn't mean there's no feelings there.. Keiji--Akaashi.. Told me he fell out of love with me...its clear that it was because he loved another."
She then turned for the door, leaving you behind.

You sighed.

I get you're hurting Kumi.. But damn..

You then proceeded to the rest of your classes.

Once they were over, Akaashi was waiting for you by the stairs.
He knew that you'd wait for the rush to go by before tackling them yourself.

"I think this should be the last day you do this."

He furrowed his brows. "Why?"

"Kumi.. Is why.. I tried to talk to her but she clearly hates me now.."

"I'll talk to her."

"Please don't! I don't need that, cause ya know I'm the one she's gonna come after...she told me that you told her that you fell out of love with her and that's why you wanted to end things, but she knows it's because you love someone else."

He sighed. "Don't listen to he-"

"I told you not to fall in love with me Akaashi..."

He rolled his eyes. "Wasn't planning on it."
He motioned you to go first down the stairs.

You didn't say anything else but slowly descend the stairs.

It was easier than climbing them, which you were happy about.
You didn't take nearly as long as before.

Once at the bottom you gave your tank a pat.
"I think I could get used to this thing." You said jokingly.

Akaashi wasn't fazed. He continued to walk towards the exit of the building.

What am I gonna do..

You then decided to follow him.

You looked at your phone and noticed that Bokuto had messaged.

Bo:) : Hey, you hungry? I bought pizza for you, me and Akaashi, meet me by your room. I'll be waiting outside.

You tucked your phone away and walked faster to catch up with Akaashi.

"H-h-hey..Bo bought pizza for us.."

"No thanks, I'm gonna go study." He then took a sharp turn out of the building, going to the library you assumed.

Yeah I figured that'd happen..

Once you got to your room, Bo was waiting with the pizza.
He looked at you weird.
"Where's Akaashi?"

"He went to study apparently." you said opening your dorm.

"What'd you do?"

You shrugged. "It's a long story Bo.."

That night you told Bokuto everything that happened earlier with Akaashi, which only lead to him giving you another lecture.

"I thought you liked Akaashi..."

"I do.. But."

"Then stop!"

"Bokuto...please.. Can we just watch a movie and chill out?"

He let out a sigh. "Fine.. But I'm choosing this time!"

The night ended with Bokuto staying the night with you.
He slept in the bed that wasn't claimed by another student.

You were woken up by the sun shinning in your eyes.
Your classes didn't start till almost 1pm today.
Since your classes were all at different times and on different days, it was nice to take it easy.

You sat up and realized that your oxygen tank was getting empty.

You then remembered that your doctor had told you that he'd have extra tanks at his office for you to take home.

You tried to wake up Bokuto.

"Five more minutes mom." He mumbled.

You laughed. "I'm not your mom Bo."
You shook him again.

"Nooo, me don't wanna, I hate school mommy, it's not fun. Too early."

You kept laughing at the words coming out of his mouth.
"Bokuto, I have to go to the doctors, Bo.. Get up!"

He fluttered his eyes open finally and gave you a groggy look.

"You're not my mom"

You shook your head at the goofball. "No I'm not, but I do have to go to the doctors now, so get out so I can change."

He lazily sat up in the bed. His hair was sticking up in different places which made you smile.
You weren't used to seeing him without his usual perfect spiked up hair.

He finally decided to see himself out.
"Wait for me! I'll come with you okay?" He said in a much more awake tone, which didn't surprise you as you were used to his mood swings.

But before you could say that he didn't need to, he was already out the door.

You shook your head with a smile, thankful that you let him into your life.

After getting the tanks from your doctor, you and Bo decided to go and get something to eat.

It was a peaceful lunch as you two shared some fries and sat outside in the sun.

"Are you really gonna shut out Akaashi?"

You looked over to Bo. "Look..I'm not ready okay.. Besides its better-"

"Better if he doesn't fall in love with you, blah blah blah, yeah y/n, I've heard it all... Oh look a seagull!"
Bokuto jumped up and started to run after it, waving his hands in the air.

It's a good thing you were good at volleyball Bo...i don't know how'd you get into this university with that bimbo brain of yours...

You laughed to yourself as you threw a fry at another seagull.

"Good Idea y/n! We'll lure them in!"

You coughed after choking on your spit.
"Are you actually attempting to catch one of them?"

"YES!" He yelled back while also slowly approaching the seagull you threw a French fry at.
