It was the next day and you woke up before your alarm to a cough attack.

The coughing was getting worse and mainly came during the night. It caused you to not get much sleep as it kept you awake.

Once you finally got your footing you checked your oxygen tank to make sure that you'd make it though the day. Today was Friday and you didn't have many classes this day but you wanted to make sure you were still good.

You looked at the time and noticed it was only five in the morning.

Your first class started at eight.

You decided to go shower and maybe go down to the cafeteria to get a coffee as you felt exhausted.

Walking was starting to get harder each day that passed and you took note of how slow you were walking, trying to keep your breathing steady. It frustrated you how you couldn't simply walk to the bathroom without feeling dizzy and out of breath. But you kept going.

Once you got to the bathroom with the showers, you placed your stuff down on a near by chair and started the water.

You were thankful that the showers had shower chairs that people could sit on. You grabbed one and took a seat. You couldn't bare to stand anymore.

You took a long moment feeling the water wash down your face, you hated how useless your body was becoming and how much harder living your life was becoming.

You noticed that the steam from the shower was becoming heavy in your lungs so you quickly showered and got out of the bathroom.

The place wasn't ventilated very well and you knew if you stayed any longer, you'd break out in another cough attack.

Stepping out of the bathroom you took a minute to dry off your tubes and tank, as they weren't really supposed to get wet.

You stood outside the door, taking a minute to take small breaths and got ready to brace yourself for the walk back to your room at the end of the hall.

You stood there longer than you realized when you felt a presence next to you.

"Y/n?"

You turned to see Akaashi. He looked worried.

You gave him a small smile before looking down the hall towards your room, your eyes were empty.

"Want help?" He asked softly.

You took a moment but nodded your head.

He didn't hesitate to wrap his arm around your waist and started to lead you guys towards your room slowly.

"I'm sorry Keiji...the steam..It's-"

"You don't need to explain okay?"

You nodded your head as you felt tears starting to swell in your eyes.

You felt useless.

Akaashi had helped you into your room and set you down on the bed. You fought your tears and took small breaths. This morning was a hard morning but you weren't about to ruin Akaashi's.

"Are you sure you're ready to go to classes?" He finally asked after a moment of silence.

"I have to..I want to..I ju-just..w-want to feel normal..Just once..I want to be able to be normal damnit!" The tears had broke through your grip and were now flowing down your face.

Akaashi pulled you into his chest and held you tight. You listened to the sound of his heart beat as he held you. The sound had calmed you a bit and you were able to collect yourself.
