"I see..." Makarov sighs, Erza covering mouth in great shock. "Those bastards..." she gritted her teeth in anger. "Erza, Natsu and Gray already did the deeds. Le-". "They're here!!" the royals guards arrive at the scene.
"These are the people condemned of murder" Makarov exclaims. "We'll have you and your people do the explaining" the leader of the royal guards states, Makarov nodding in reply.
"Erza, bring Natsu back to the infirmary. And about questions, don't utter a word about what you saw and heard" Makarov orders. "Yes master" she nods, Happy going with her. Carrying Natsu on her shoulder, the trio head back to the guild.
"Gray, let's go" Makarov exclaims as he nods in response. The rain pouring down, no sounds of peace, were heard.
----
"Urgh..." groaning, he slowly opens his sleepy eyes. "Where... am I?" he grunts, looking around the room he's in. "Click" he turned around to the sound of the opening door. "Wen...dy?" he mutters.
"Natsu-san! Are you alright? Feeling any pain anywhere?" she asks as she runs towards her injured friend. "I'm.. fine... What happened..?" he asks, voice weak.
"Erza-san carried you back here yesterday. We were all confused and tried asking her but she didn't say anything" she answers, using her magic to check for any injuries left on Natsu's body.
"You're finally awake" the duo turned around to see Makarov and Gray standing at the infirmary doorstep. "Master" Wendy bows her head in greeting.
"May you leave us alone for a while dear?" Makarov smiles, Wendy nodding in response as she walks outside the room and closing the door afterwards.
"Gramps.." Natsu muttered. "I told Mira and Elfman everything" he exclaims, Natsu immediately sitting up and hissing in pain afterwards. "Easy now, my boy. It's true, this is too sudden... and about those people who killed her, are already in jail" he sighs.
"Gray and I decided we'll have her funeral this evening. And about the rest, leave it to me" he states, turning around to leave the duo.
-
Silence. Its been minutes and silence was still in between the two. "It was my fault..." Natsu muttered, breaking the silence. "Those bastards... were only on about me.. but she got dragged... and killed... all because of me..." he continued.
"No it wasn't. Those bastards just killed her for their own selfish deeds. If only I could have found her a little longer I-". "No, it's my fault. All of these are my fault! If I hadn't rejected her, she wouldn't have ran away!!" he yelled, panting and sweating as he looks away in guilt.
"Natsu..." Gray muttered, gritting his teeth and clenching his fists. "I'll leave you for some time alone" he stood up, as he slowly walks towards the door. Opening it and closing it afterwards.
Turning around, he heard wails and sobs. He already knew what was going on. Makarov just announced what happened, and there was no going back. They have to face the truth, whether they like it or not.
Gritting his teeth, he ran outside their guild. Running and running to who knows where, until where his legs will take him.
