Chapter 1 || Gossip

"Please! Please!, I am sorry, I won't come out of my room again, please mercy me!"I cried out to him,as he stood by the metal doorway;while my eyes burned with tear, I was crying both from the pain of hitting the wall and from fear , of what he might do to me

"Oh you'll really be sorry after this"he said with anger burning in his eyes, his voice was low and dangerous.
He stepped inside the cell, slamming the metal door behind him , as he quickly started to make his way towards me.

Oh Please God No!

"Ewwww, Belllllllaaaa"I groaned, shoving my dog off my face while I tried to nap, finally she stopped trying to lick my face, and I could get some sleep,

Then without warning I felt her lick the side of my face, the smell of her breath make me gag,

Don't get me wrong, I love my dogs, but definitely don't love their breath,

"why did you have to do that"I said sitting up in bed and wiping my face with the hem of my white casual dress, as I looked up I saw Bella and Blue pawing at the door, wanting to be let out,

Guess I found the answer to that question,

"fine." I say, letting out an annoyed sigh,

I got out of bed and walked towards my bedroom door and opened it for them, it was a fairly long dark wood door, the door opened with a loud noise and the two dogs ran out as if for their dear life, I didn't blame them, I wanted to do the same.

As I heard the sound of their claws clanking getting farther away I suddenly hear two girls scream in surprise, I peeked my head out the door to see my dogs at the end of the hallway making a right turn to where the garden is, and just a few feet away from my door I see Katharine and Isabelle pressed against the wall,

"You ok?" I call out chuckling,

" gee I don't know, maybe you should have warned us before letting the dogs out" Katharine said, while turning around to look at me, it was clear she was being sarcastic, so I didn't mind,

"How should I have known you guys were there" I said while they made their way inside my room,

"Next time look out the door before letting them out" Isabelle commented, I took a seat at the head of the bed "Thanks for your advice madam" Katharine chuckled while Isabelle just rolled her eyes

Katharine and Isabelle are sisters with one older brother,

they are the head guards daughters who also lives in the castle, their brother is also training to become a future guard, their mother unfortunately died giving birth to Isabelle, but Isabelle doesn't know that,

It's a secret better kept hidden,

Katharine and Isabelle are the only best friends I have, they are the only people other then the maid and my parents that are allowed to come to my room; Katharine often would tell me all the newest gossip that would go around the kingdom or the castle walls, from women fighting over men to marry,  to new alliances my dad is planning to make with other kingdoms. And I am guessing that's why they're here.

"So, what's the newest gossip?"I ask,

Katharine hunched foreword to tell me,
"Do you remember Annabelle?"

she ask very seriously, suddenly curiosity  started burning inside me , I have always been very curious and my mother sometimes says that that one day will be my downfall, but I didn't really pay too much attention to that,

"The redhead with green eyes, yeah,  I remember, what about her?" I say nodding,

"Just a week ago she was ordered to get married to king Steffens son as part of an alliance"Katharine informs,

"That's amazing" I said with a frown, marriage wasn't that's big of a deal usually,then why was Katharine telling me this?

"No it's not, because she didn't want to marry king Steffens son;"

Now it's getting interesting

"and turns out she was in love with another man, one of a much lower status then us;her dad was so angry that he beat her up until she finally agreed to the marriage"

"Oh my god" I whispered in devastation for her , as I was not allowed to leave my room I used to look down at the garden from my bedroom window, were most of the young girls women and children used to spend there time,

I remember Annabelle waving her hand to say hello sometimes when she saw me looking, she was definitely very pretty and kind so it broke my heart to hear about what happened to her.
"And—" ,she continued but stopped due to the knocking on my door,

We all turned our heads towards the door,
"Come in"

I called out to whoever was at the door, the door slowly opened to reveal my mother, the queen, looking beautiful as always with her silky blue and white dress that pooled at her feet every time she stood still, her brown hair was in a bun on top of her head,

"Girls, would you mind leaving me and the princess alone for a moment?" She said in a sickly sweet voice which made my stomach turn,I had a weird feeling about this.

"I need to talk to the princess,privately"
