Chapter 30 || Time Is The Best Healer

8 months later...

I sighed at the caress of my face from the sun, stretching out my body in bed, I sit up and stare out the window that shows the greenery of the mountains outside, I rub the sleep from my eyes and tossed the blanket off my body before going to the bathroom to quickly get ready for today's training.

The material of the sports bra was tight against my chest, my way of dressing has totally changed since coming to this new life, T-shirts and tights has become much more favorable over tight corsets and dress, that takes way too long to get on,

The mirror in the bathroom didn't hide the scars that were all over my back and the one very big one on the side of my stomach, but they no longer bothered me, the hard earned abs made me look like a fierce worrier, I smile at my self in the mirror and put on a lose T-shirt on top,

The mountains were freezing cold, but since my first change, I don't feel too cold. I go out to the kitchen of the cabin, but unlike most days Alaska isn't there, grabbing a slice of bread in my hands, I go and check to see the sitting area out side, where I see her sitting on the wooden bench, still in her pajamas,

I walk up over to her, " What are you still doing in your pajamas?, aren't we suppose to be training today?" I ask, sitting down next to her, she turns her head to me, her eyes slightly squinting from the morning sun, "Not today, Danial has a bonfire party this afternoon and I thought we could use a break since we've been training nonstop this month" she explains,

I nod my head, and look out at the nature around me,

"Have you thought about what I told you yesterday?" She asks,

Kinda knew she was going to ask that,

"No, I didn't want to ruin a good nights sleep" I simply say, I have been trying to avoid this topic since Alaska first brought it up 2 months ago,

"You know what I told you right?, never to avoid problems, but to face them head on" she tells me for the 10th time this week, "I know, I know", I put my head in my hands, "Can't we just stay out here for a few more months?" I look up at her, " We can't" she clears,

"Well then," I stand from my chair, "Imma go out for a run, you know, enjoy the nature" I say, she chuckles and nods, and I take off into the path we toke for yesterday's run, half way into my run I catch a sight of a squirrel,

I am feeling a little hungry,

"Hurry up!" Alaska yells at me from outside the cabin, I stumbled past many furniture and go outside,

"I am here, I'm here!" I announce, and we both go down the path and make our way to Daniels cabin, the cold winter wind was calming, I soon catch sight of the smoke from the fire, and a distant noise of music could be heard,

"Ahh, your finally here!" Danials wife greets us,

"Of course we came, we can't just spend our last day here, in the cabin bored" Alaska reply's , Danials wife turns to me, grabs me by the wrists and pulls me towards the large fire, around it we're many other people dancing to some country songs,

"Let's dance!"She says,

I turn and see Alaska smile at me being dragged away, and return the smile back,

I seriously need to thank this girl for everything she's done,

We both started to dance to the music, letting my self have some fun, my short layered dress moved to my body and wind, the fire smoke overwhelming my sense of smell,

Finally getting tired, I go sit on a wood log that was laid across the grass for people to sit on, in the corner of my eye I see something and turned,

Alaska held out a red cup with an unknown liquid, "What is this?" I ask investigating the cup, while Alaska sit next to me, " It's beer"

"Ahh, I'll pass" I hand the cup back to her, and she looked surprised, "So you smoke cigarettes, but don't drink beer" she cocks a brow, bringing the cup to her lips, with a smirk,

I roll my eyes, "I told you, I'm trying to quit, ok" i answer, Alaska clears her throat, looking into the cup when she says,

"Didn't look like you were trying to quit, back there on the balcony" Her natural amber eyes look back at me, while my ocean blue stare back at her,

"You saw me?" I question,

She nodded her head casually, "Not even the smell of mountains and green grass can mask the toxic scent of cigarettes" she revealed,

I sighed knowing I have been caught,

"Don't worry, I know how hard it is to quit" she quickly releases me from some of that guilt. Looking at everyone having fun made a smile on my face appear,

"Are you ready to go back home tomorrow?" I ask, and she nodded as an answer,
