We were all sat down, sipping on our fizzy drinks. I was put on a team with Keaton and Tabitha was on Ben's team. So far, they were kicking our butts.
"I know you're new to this and all but... you're so shit."
I frown, "Well if I had a better teacher, maybe I wouldn't suck."
Tabitha claps her hands in glee. "I love your accent."
My frown deepens. "How many times do I have to tell you to stop doing that?"
"Then stop being so cute!"
I roll my eyes, thrusting my three fingers inside the hole. With no effort at all, I throw it down the alley. I don't bother to see the outcome, instead I turn around and pull a face at Keaton. He pulls one back before his face turns into shock.
"What?" Ben asks.
Ben's face also changes at the sight of the board. I look up to see I got a strike. I give them all a smug smile, sitting back into my seat.
"That's something that you can't do Keaton."
"It was just luck. I could do way better."
"You've not even gotten a strike."
"I was pretending, so you didn't feel bad."
"Dude, you can't even-"
I'm cut off by Tabitha's squeal and I frown, turning my argument towards her. By the end, Ben and Tabitha won by a milestone and we were in the arcade. Tabitha and I had split away from they guys are were kicking the 2p slot machine.
"We've lost two pounds only to gain thirty pennies."
I giggle, "That's why this game is fun."
Tabitha kicks the machine again, causing the arcade manager to give her a stare.
"Let's go to the teddy grabber."
Tabitha hits the machine again before dashing towards the teddy grabber. The manager shakes his head, retreating back to his office. I catch up with Tabitha, staring at which Teddy I wanted. I spy a brown teddy that looked like an average bear but it was cute. It reminded me of my childhood teddy bear, which was called Mr Bear (very original I know).
"I want that one." Tabitha mumbles.
She points towards a purple dog with big, round eyes.
"Cute. I want that one there."
"Let's get them then."
"This game is my speciality." I say, inserting a coin into the slot.
On my first try, I pick up Tabitha's purple dog and drop it into the box. She squeals happily, hugging me before grabbing the dog. I insert another coin. My bear was harder to get as it was in the corner. It took me three tries before I gave up, every time I picked it up, it would drop into a more awkward position.
"Struggling?" Keaton asks, his head popping over my shoulder.
I shrug, "I'll just buy one."
"Let me do it."
"It's fine. Where's Ben?"
"In the toilet, I think."
"Well, if you guys are ready, I'm ready to go home."
"You have to be home now? It's only six." Tabitha says, using her hands to make her purple bear sad.
"Dad's coming back today."
"Aww. Shall I drop you?"
Keaton shakes his head. "I'll take her. I think Ben wants to stay anyway."
