I sat up, gasping in my bed. Kai - he-he. I couldn't even think about it. He violated my mind. I shuddered at the memory threatening to rise. They did that. Page had run in as soon as Kai left, saying he looked like he was going to be sick. At first, I was sick. Hurling my guts up into the toilet, then I lied in bed and hadn't moved a muscle.

"M.J.?" Askari asked outside the door.

Page looked at me, and I gave the slightest dip of my head, answering her silent question.

She left the bedroom, and I heard her open the small lobby door.

"M.J's asleep," she said.

"Jay wants to talk to her," he said.

Knowing that he wouldn't leave Page alone until he saw me, I rasped.

"Go away, Askari, I'll see him in the morning."

"M.J.?" The word sounded sharp, like he could hear something wasn't right.

"Stop, Skari!" Page yelled at him, and I heard him hesitate at the terror in her voice, but he barged into my room, eyes widening as he took in my pale skin, dull eyes and the blood from my wound.

"What the hell happened?" I shoved the covers off, standing up weakly.

"Go away," I said with as much strength as I could muster. He didn't listen.

"M.J., what the hell happened?" He repeated.

I took a threatening step forward - or tried to, but just ended up with my knees buckling.

Askari caught me, and Page ran over to me, trying to help.

Askari gently pushed her away, holding me steadily.

Harper ran into my room, eyes widening at the sight of me leaning on Askari.

"Askari, take Page to Charlie," she ordered.

"Page can stay," I said, giving her a look that challenged her to say anything.

She nodded and pushed Askari out of the room.

"Sit!" Harper demanded.

I did, plopping down onto the bed.
"You healed yourself," she said after a moment, and I glanced at her.

"Huh?"

"You healed your shoulder when you just came here. I know healer magic when I see it."

"I don't know what you're talking about."

I had been reckless. And I was now beating myself up for it. Kai already knew too much, and I can't have Harper knowing as well.

"What's your real name?" She asked.

Page cut in, "She never answers that question."

"I don't know why everyone asks that," Page babbled on, "like, M.J. is a perfectly fine name."

"Page, I'm fine with it" I rasped.

"Sure you are," Page and Harper say in sync. They both looked at each other, Page glaring more than looking.

I almost laughed at the five-year-old, staring down an immortal angel. Though, it's not her first time.

I would've laughed, had not a fresh wave of pain come.

Harper's gaze sharpened as she glanced at me, walking closer.

"Don't," I tried. I couldn't risk...that happening with Harper as well. I barely suppressed a shudder.
