The angel realm.

Stuck in the angel realm.

"Take me back."

"We can't."

"Nice of you to join the conversation, Askari." Everyone jumped at the sound of Askari's voice, everyone apart from Kai and I.

I glared at the three angels in the room.

"Take me back."

Panic rose from inside of me, I couldn't breathe -

"It's not that easy," Askari said calmly.

Trapped in another realm. What if they found me? I had to get back to the mortal realm.

"You have to take me back!"I shouted. Page jumped at my tone. I didn't care if they could smell the panic, hear my heart thumping, I had to leave.

Another angel entered the room, a single rose tattoo was etched onto her forearm, her eyes the same pale blue as Kai's. Siblings, I realise.

"Hey, it's okay." She said.

"Take me back!" I yelled. They would find me and they would kill me.

"M.J., calm down," Askari said.

"Calm down? Calm down?!" I shrieked, "they will kill me! They will kill Page!" Tears filled Page's eyes, and Charlie glared at me. But I could tell he was more mad at whoever would try and harm Page. Kai's eyes sharpened and I could almost see the question in them.

An angels hand gripped mine. I looked up to see Kai's sister staring at me. She began leading me from the room, but I looked back to Page.

"She's safe with me," Charlie said gently.

I gave him a look that promised certain death if she came back to me harmed. For once Charlie didn't smile as he nodded seriously. I let the angel guide me through multiple hallways, never once loosing my bearings.

"My name is Lahni," she said at last.

"I can't stay here," I said, my voice lowered.

"Why not?"

"Interrogating me already?" I asked with a slight smile, but the moment passed and the smile dropped. "They will kill me," I said again, much quieter.

"Who?" Lahni asked.

I shook my head, flooded with memories. She was a complete stranger. I couldn't tell her. We entered a room at the end of Askari's apartment.

Lahni opened the door, revealing a nicely decorated bedroom.

"Is this yours?" I asked.

She nodded.

"Make yourself at home," she said, then winced apologetically at her words.

"Look, all I can say is if I don't get back to the human realm, I will die. Page will die."

"You say the human realm as if it is not your own world," Lahni observed.

"Oh well. Does it matter what I call it? It's my home."

"What about family? Any parents or other siblings?" Shadows clouded my eyes and Lahni quickly changed the subject, seeing the pain and rage there.

"How bout school, work?"

"My company were fighters, we got paid to fight live." I said.

"And you were - "

I stiffened at the feeling of eyes on my back. Someone else was in the room.

I stood, turning away from Lahni.
