The night of the prom came, leaving Kim running here and there inside her house. She had a cucumber and avocado face mask on, protest of Shelby who was helping her get ready.

"Kim, calm down." She said as Kim restlessly wandered in her room, resembling a three-year-old child.

It had only been seven minutes, and Kim was already itching to pull the wet blend off her face. She waved her hands in front of her face as if it would actually dry the three-centimeter burden on her skin.

"It's already ten minutes." She protested the tenth time in the last three minutes.

"NO. And stop talking." A stern reply came.

Kim scrunched her nose and sat down on her bed, folding her hands close to her chest. She pushed her head back, letting out an annoyed moan before standing up and wandering her room again.

"Wash it off." Shelby sighed in defeat.

"Alright, we have exactly two hours before Frenchie shows up." She seriously pointed out and Kim nodded. "Go, put on your dress."

"Stare less, wear more." She reminded once she saw Kim gawking over the pink clothing in her hands.

Kim slipped off her t-shirt and delicately put on the dress so that no creases form. Once firmly put, she smiled over her reflection in the mirror and continued to eye her dress, rocking back and forth between the reflection and the dress itself.

"Kim, you're gonna be late. Stop-" Shelby's mouth instantly shut up taking a look at her. A pause and she spluttered, "You look beautiful." The words automatically left her mouth.

She continued to stare until the time popped into her mind. A clear of the throat and she finally says, "Let's start with the makeup." Kim nods, taking one last glance in the full-length mirror.

She sat down on her computer chair and slid it close to her bed where Shelby could take a comfortable position to start the make-up with.

After many minutes, declinations, 'Not too heavy' protests, Kim opened her eyes. "What?" She snapped.

"Your makeup is harassing your dress." Shelby shook her head with the 'unbelievable' look.

Her makeup, if she had any, clearly wasn't working out with the heaven-made fabric draping her body. She didn't allow Shelby to put any foundation and her eyeliner was unusually thin with an invisible layer of pink eye-shadow. No blushes were allowed, curtsy of Kim, and her lips were coated with clear lip-gloss.

She frowned. "But I don't like heavy-"

"Kim, it's a prom, not a funeral. You can't look like you just rubbed your face on grass. We have one and half an hour left. Go and wash it off and I'll re-do it." She sighed, pointing to the bathroom.

"I think it's okay." She remonstrated, only to be given a big plop of black eyeliner on her cheek by Shelby.

"Go and wash it off." She repeated and Kim sighed in defeat, finally getting up and walking in the bathroom.

Kim returned back to her room and instantly, her eyes became ready to leave their sockets. The tubes, palettes, brushes and some other products which she didn't even know the name of, lying on her bed made her question herself- 'I own that much makeup?'. The eyes diverted from the sight and got pinned to Shelby.

"Don't tell me you're going to put all of that onto my face." She warned and Shelby smilingly nodded.

Kim rolled her eyes and sat down with her eyes closed, ready to give her face entirely to Shelby for the next half an hour.
