"I thought we weren't having this stupid game night for another week," Kid complained, helping Killer move their couch back to create more space in their sitting room.
Killer set his end of the couch down and stood back to examine the space. "Change of plans."
Kid dropped his end of the couch, a permanent scowl on his face. "Do I have to play?"
"It's the least you can do after what you did to Reena."
Plopping down on the couch, Kid looked at Killer, confused and slightly agitated. "What'd I do?"
"You gave her the wrong number."
"What?"
"Remember when she first invited you to game night?"
"Yeah, what about it?"
"And remember how she never text you about it."
"What're you getting at?" Kid pressed, growing more irritated.
"You gave her your old number."
Kid scoffed, trying to hide his embarrassment. He turned his eyes to the T.V. and picked up the remote. "So what? That doesn't mean I owe her a thing."
"She was nice enough to invite you last time and you were dumb enough to give her the wrong number. Even if you didn't plan to go last time, she text you and you never replied. She felt bad."
Kid got up and ventured into the kitchen for a beer. "What do I care if she felt bad?"
Grabbing his own beer from the fridge, Killer cracked it open and took a long sip before turning to Kid. "Just pretend like you're having fun tonight."
Kid side-eyed him. "Why're you going out of your way to hang out with these people?"
"Because it's time we make some new friends."
"I don't need more friends."
"I'm honored you'd think my company's enough."
"Too much. Your company's too much."
Hearing a solid knock, Killer looked back at the door. "They're here."
"Goodie," Kid murmured sarcastically, chugging the rest of his beer.
"Play nice," Killer sighed walking to the door and opening it.
"Killer," Reena greeted with a bright smile. She was bundled up in a mountain of winter clothes with her teal hair curled over her shoulders.
"Come in." Killer stepped to the side to let Reena and Marco inside.
"The rest of the group should be here soon-yoi," Marco said, pocketing his hands into his purple hoodie.
"Soon? We're already here!" Bonney grinned, walking up to them with Kaku, Luffy, Ace and Sabo behind her. Walking into the apartment, she shoved two paper bags into Marco's arms. Slipping her shoes off, she took a curious look around. "What a spacious apartment."
Kaku walked in after her, shoving the paper bag he had into Marco's arms. "Here."
Marco's lip curled in annoyance, but he didn't say anything.
Seeing Marco's face, Reena slipped her arms around one of the bags. "Let me help you."
He smiled, grateful. "Thanks-yoi."
"What do you have there?" Killer asked.
"Beer," Bonney answered, patting one of the bags. "Lots of beer!"
