(Killer's POV)
Reena: Brown.
Killer: Brown? Your favorite color is brown?
Reena: Yellow?
Killer: Final answer?
Reena: I'm going with teal. My favorite color is teal.
"Who're you texting?" Kid cracked open a light beer and sat down on the couch.
Sitting in the loveseat, I looked at Kid from behind my phone. "No one." I turned my attention back to my phone as it vibrated.
Reena: Favorite food?
I inclined my head back and thought about her question. I loved all types of pasta. When I narrowed down my pasta list, I replied to her text.
Killer: Aglio e Olio.
Reena: Yeah? Marco knows a great place that has that on the menu.
Finishing off his beer, Kid crushed the can in his hand and tossed it over his shoulder into the garbage.
I tucked my phone into my pocket. "Do you think Reena and Marco are dating?" I asked casually.
"What? How should I know." Kid kicked his feet up on the coffee table, browsing for something to watch on the T.V. After a long moment, he asked, "Why?"
I pulled my phone back out and stared at Reena's texts. She sent a text the night after the movie and since then, we've been texting back and forth. "Just curious."
He suspiciously narrowed his eyes at me. "You're up to something."
"You like board games, don't you?"
"No, I hate them." He turned on a random T.V. show.
"Right..." I smirked at my phone.
Killer: Maybe we can order some for game night.
Reena: Game night?
Killer: You have game nights, right? You mentioned it to Kid.
Reena: Yeah, that's right.
Killer: How about you host your next game night here? Our place is small, but we can manage. Kid loves board games.
Reena: Are you sure? There are a lot of us!
Killer: The more, the merrier! I have class. Text me the day and time and I'll have everything ready. Do you remember where we live?
Reena: Yup! I remember! I'll text you later. Have a good day!
"Where are you going?" Kid asked as I stood up.
"Class." I moseyed across the apartment and into my room. Taking out a black button down with white polka dots and jeans, I got ready. Buttoning the last button on my shirt, I walked out of the room and headed for the door. "We're cooking today, so I'll bring back some dinner."
Sprawled out on the couch, Kid threw an arm up. "Enjoy your cooking class."
Grabbing my coat, I locked the door behind me and ventured towards class. Because our apartment was only a short walk from the college campus, I didn't bother to drive.
Shoving my hands into my pockets, I listened to the crunch of my footsteps in the snow. It was rather peaceful. "Hm?" Feeling my phone vibrate, I took it out of my pocket and looked at the text.
Reena: Next month, third Saturday 5:00 P.M. game night. We'll bring the game. There will be 6 maybe 7 of us.
Killer: I'll bring the food. Are you picky?
