Marco lined up at the concession stand. "She's late-yoi."
"She'll be here." Looking over the menu, Reena scanned it for something good to snack on. Her stomach growled when she saw a picture of fried chicken. Because things at work got so busy, she forgot to eat the entire day and she was starved.
"I wouldn't mind if she didn't show," he said insouciantly, moving with the line.
Rolling her eyes playfully, Reena bumped him with her elbow. "What're you going to eat?"
"Chocolate popcorn."
"Yeah?" She perked up when her phone buzzed. Pulling it out, she glanced at the text. "It's Bonney. She had to make an emergency stop at the convenience store. They're on their way now."
"An emergency stop?" He raised a brow. "She's buying snacks isn't she?"
"Probably," Reena shrugged. "She's cheap."
"Why didn't you buy snacks before coming-yoi?"
"Why would I do that when I have you to buy my snacks," Reena answered cheekily.
"Right..." Shaking his head, he walked up to the counter.
The young woman behind the counter smiled, brushing strands of loose hair behind her ear. "What can I get you?" She asked. Fleetingly, her eyes roamed over Marco.
Not minding the woman's stare, Marco stepped aside to let Reena order first. "Reena?"
"I'd like a churro, hotdog, fried chicken and a tea please."
"She'll have the entire menu-yoi," he quipped with a smirk. "Add chocolate popcorn to that."
Reena stuck her tongue out. "I'm hungry! Are you going to get anything to drink? I'm not sharing my tea."
He nodded. "And a water."
"Water? With chocolate popcorn? You're a monster."
"And what would you have with it-yoi?"
"Not water."
The woman looked between Marco and Reena. Their body language suggested friendship, but the way they looked at each other said otherwise. Realizing her lingering stare, she stepped back from the counter and left to take care of the order. When she came back, she set the food and drinks down on the counter. Then skillfully, she slipped a small piece of paper next to the snacks without Reena or Marco noticing.
Marco smiled at her. "Thanks." Picking up the tray of food, he looked down at Reena. "Ready?"
Reena grabbed the drinks. "Mm!" She nodded, following him to the theater.
When they found their seats, they handed each other their snacks and drinks. During the exchange, the small note that the concession woman snuck on the tray fell to the floor without either of them noticing.
Reaching over, Reena snatched a fistful of Marco's chocolate popcorn. "Thanks!"
"So you won't share your food, but you can eat mine?" He asked. Reena was known to get feisty when someone took a sample of her food.
She grinned up at him before munching down on the treat. Fixing a napkin over her lap, she took out her fried chicken.
"These are our seats," a man said, dropping down next to her.
"Why'd you pick such crummy seats?" Another man grumbled, sitting down next to him.
Blinking, Reena put down the fried chicken that she was nibbling on. She recognized the second man's voice. Wiping her mouth clean, she leaned forward and looked around the blonde who was next to her. She let out a low, "Oh." when she saw Kid sitting on the other side of him. She sat back before he saw her.
